Paul, 20 Feb 2009Probably the worst phone ever! Touch screen is useless,not... more@Paul,

I own Samsung i900 for the past 3 months. I never use stylus except when I calibrate the screen.

case #1: You dont own Omnia - that's why you say such thing like that.

case #2: You own Omnia - but you dont know how to use it.

              Cheers.

The touch screen is not smooth, you'll have to press it hard. There is no slot for the Stylus and it hangs loose by the site (Guys will not like it). The Phone specs are excellent.

                          A short review:

                          Negative response:
The touch screen isn't as sensitive as HTC touch HD, but it's really good. You have to press harder, but in that case it looks like the touch screen is better secured.. I mean, it can handle more pressure as there is a warning when you open the HTC touch HD box, It goes something like this: "Please take the phone out of your pocket when sitting, becouse the pressure of your pants to your leg might damage the screen"
You don't need to worry about that when it comes to the Omnia..

Internal memory seem to be deactivated from time to time, leaving you with no other choice then to turn it of, then on, or do a soft reset.. But don't worry, it's still there ;)
(Memory card is stabil as hell)

The most negative thing about the phone is that after a cuple of months the software beggs for a Hard Reset.. (remember to do backups from time to time ;) )
It happened once, Noone could reach me, and nothing gave sound..
I had put my alarm clock on with five alarms, but none of them rang.. I don't know why, but a hard Reset sure did fixed the problem ;)
Note: I have the retail software, no update, still waiting for one.. (Norwegian rom)

                          Good things:
                          It's very perrfect :D
                          Accurate and fast touch screen..
Screen turning done in a second.. (Depending on how sensitive it is, YES you can configure the sensitivity)

Good battery life, Overall a good phone :)
I went from SE K810 (one of the best SE phones) to the Omnia, and I am pleased!

Ofcourse it have been a cuple of bumps in the way, but it's really great :D

The camera works good aswell :)
Video recording: 640x480 smooth playback, chopy recording (Don't worry, it's supposed to be that way)
                          320x240 120FPS recording (SLOWMO FTW)

Fast operative system, and good useability :)
                          Good interface, thumb optimized..
Good batterylife, even when I watch movies, or listen to music..

Overall: A really good phone, BUT I need a software update for my Norwegian rom :-/
Do I regret that I bought it? No! Absolutly not :)

                            Probably the worst phone ever!
Touch screen is useless, nothing works without stylus and everthing is so long winded. BUY AN I-PHONE.

This phone looks good. Feels comfortable in the hand and yet........... Perhaps its the lack of a search function for the touch player on the lack of being able to add all files to the music playlist in one go. Perhaps its the unfriendliness of trying to scroll to a phone number that fails. It either try's to dial the last number or reverts to "a" again. Perhaps it's the video that's too poor to use. Perhaps it's the on-screen keyboard that is sooooo slow to use, mistakes are all too common. Perhaps it the fact that that tasks don't shut down automatically. Perhaps it's the poor battery performance. Who knows which firmware type is the best. There are so many flavours, it's almost like Linux. perhaps, perhaps, perhaps it's the fact that maybe this phone was rushed to the market before it was ready. It's a "jack of all trades" rather than "master of some". It tries to do too much. In fact I'm tired of all it's frustrations, maybe it's time to get rid of it. I could go on but I'm boring you.....

I think I have developed feelings for this handset. I believe the the touch mechanism is incredible it really does get me going. I also love the vibrations for special purposes...
