The samsung omnia is one of the best phone ever seen... it has a very cool style better than the iphone more memory, it has windows mobile too, and that´s like to have a mini pc and its Divx format... you can see movies in your own phone...
This phone is just AMAZING!!!!

Hi, anyone can help me? I m deciding to buy this phone or wait for Xperia..i but, i mean, in what points Xperia beat Omnia??? Cos, i think Omnia really beat Xperia hard in every way. So help me guys...is it a good buy this Omnia?

This is my little review.
This is the best phone i ever had without a doubt, but you need to tweak it to get the best of this phone.
i bought this phone from singapure and had the HG3 version on it, it was laggy, the camera didnt impress me, all the photos taken was with a lot of shadows and darker, the heaphones output sound was low, battery life was not great, watching videos are poor due to screen resolution and those were my first concerns.
But after updating to version HH3 and doing some tweaks...
Now my phone is an Amazing Camera phone (after updating to 1.09), even better than SE k790, pictures are nice and clear, face detection is automatic.
Regarding video, the max resolution at 30fps is 320 X 340, or at 15fps 640 x 480. is good for a phone, not the best.
The phone is really fast and responsive on HH3.
Speakers are so damn loud than any phone i ever had.
Headphones sound output is so loud now(after the tweak)
Music sound quality is great for a phone... as an example is way better than my previous iphone or an ipod, best bass and mids... but do not expect to be best than a premium sound mp3 player like cowon D2.
Watching videos and listen music has been great thanks to third party software that makes the task easy, i even see videos at 720 x 480 resolution at my phone without lag, or need to encode.
I use core player for videos and conduits pocketplayer for music.
The GPS works great. i live in mexico
The signal reception is great, call sound quality is the best, nice rich and crisp.
the only things i dont like of this phone for being perfect for me are:
1.- Screen resolution... why Samsung why...
2.- Screen quality, is easy to leave deep marks and nicks on it.
3.- Battery Life, i hear that at version HH3 the battery life is poor than other versions but the performance is overall better than any other version, for me Performance >> than battery life, maybe is a concern but this can be solved by Samsung in next firmwares updates.
overall, this is the best phone i ever had.
Before purchasing this phone my options were iphone 3g, HTC touch pro, HTC diamond, or wait for Xperia / N96, and just decided to buy this phone due to the fact that was the only Built in 16Gb phone with Touchscreen or slide keyboard.

I got my Omnia last friday in US. This looks lik... moreunfortunatley this is how win mob runs, you do have to end via task manager.
i had HH3 for 2 days, upgraded from HG5, but it was poor, many people reporting bugs, i have since upgraded again to HI1 which is superb, so would suggest doing this, for the improved battery life alone!!!!

Hi All,
I got my Omnia last friday in US. This looks like a singapore version available unlocked in US. I am noticing following 2 things.
1) Apps are not exiting. I need to end them from 'Task Manager'
2) Battery life is too low.
ROM is HH3. Any suggestion?

LOVE THIS PHONE..! Really wanna have it, but it is so expensive. I'm thinking of buying it in the USA because it's much cheaper over there than in Europe. Does somebody know: if I buy it in the USA does it work in the Netherlands? I really hope so. ThanQ!!

1. the gps receiver of Omnia is a SirfIII or is it something else? What chipset is inside?
2. can you make a movie with vga rez (640x480)at 30 fps? If not, what is the maximum rezolution at 30fps?

Do you know the panorama function? i900 can capture continuous images and links them each other automatically. So we can get the continuous panoramatic image. (scrolling image)
Here is one tip for you. If you see this panoramatic image, you can zoom in/out with side key.

DEEED, 20 Sep 2008can someone please tell me what does smile detection mean ??I think.. the smile detection is a capturing option to get a photo with a smile face. If some face front of lense make a smile, the camera capture that image automatically..

I didn't notice any lag in performance. I am windows mobile user since windows ce 1.0 and I know how to optimize my device so my Omnia with 55MB free working memory and 8GB dree storage memory is super fast device. Much faster than Nokia E90 and much much faster than any other ex windows mobile device I ever had.
Smile detector is very good camera function. All you have to do is point camera to people, Omnia than track all faces on screen and you don't need to press any button and Omnia takes picture on it's own when all of faces start to smile.
This phone is sure best phone I ever had and I had sooooo many phones :).
