Too much lag, and it's unresponsive at times. Also, the colors are not that great. Almost impossible to use under direct sunlight. Nice try Samsung, but not good enough.

Omnia is a great phone, especially when coupled with SPB Mobile Shell which I think makes it even cooler than HTC Diamond.
But I am still very upset that my Omnia had this problem since day 1 whereby the screen refused to turn on after a few hours of inactivity, and I can only resolved it through a soft reset. When this problem occur, the phone is actually still functioning as I can still receive call and make calls, just that the LCD's totally turned off. Even after hard resetting my phone and not installing any application, this problem still recurred.
After 7 days, I sent it to Samsung Singapore for repairs and they refused to change a new set. They changed the touch panel instead and lo and behold, the problem persisted. I had to re-send it in again for repairs and requested for it to be escalated to their management for replacement - I hope it can be done.
The phone has lots of potential, but is totally useless if I need to soft reboot every few hours.

stuff, 07 Aug 2008does any1 know if Omnia has limited letters up to 160 lette... moreHi, its not the phone that restricts the amount of characters its your network provider, if you go into your message settings and choose network maximum it will alow the max characters before splitting the sms/mms, if your writing a large sms choose mms option ans dont add a photo, this will allow for more charachters per message and a lower price per message.

This phone was released in Malaysia this month and I had th chance to work with it today in Kuala Lumpur. It is very similar to Samsung Tocco but it is larger and almost and large as iphone. Amazing machine, it has everything you need, 5MP LED Flah camera, Video Recorder and Editor, SMS, MMS, 3.5G, 16GB Memory, Video Conferencing with two cameras, only thing I did not like was the black plain plastic cover at the back. Tocco has Stainless Steel back and also a leather cover. This phone s a Windows based Notebook shrunk into a small Mobile phopne. I recommend this system to all people who look for an iphone killer. I still believe that iphone has fr better display ad scrteen graphics but this phone is amazing.

I gave my brother my i780 as a gift, a very expensive gift I must say. So I bought the i900 to replace it.
My very first impression of the i900 is that I, indeed, miss my i780. Even now, after 1 week of usage, I still miss my i780. There are more controls and buttons from the i780.
There's another disadvantage that I've found after 1-2 days of owning the i900 is the low RAM. Though the i900 comes with an internal storage (8gb or 16gb), some older programs/system files/registry files take RAM spaces.
Another disadvantage of the internal storage (8gb or 16gb) is that you cannot transfer files with Asian language. You'll have to use the external storage to store those files.
I've found out that putting an 8gb external SD card makes the storage card viewable in ActiveSync.
Though the PDA phone is about as thick as the i780, it's a bit in the heavy side.
-------------
There are some advantages in the i900 over the i780. You get the 6.1 version upgrade, Opera 9.5 browser, a 5.0 Megapixel Camera with LED flash, an FM Radio, auto rotate sensor, and some better tweaked software. I guess those are the upgrades that the i780 doesn't have.
With the i900, I can re-installed back some games that I couldn't put in the square screen from the i780. But then the widescreen format of the PDA screws up the display of the TomTom6 version software that I got.
With the Opera 9.5, browsing the internet is much better than the previous 8.5 version. I can access Yahoo site normally, and my Yahoo account too. However, I still cannot access online banking accounts.
The main thing that makes me want to change the phone is the inability to operate the TomTom software with a normal viewing. So either I gotta change the phone, or TomTom gonna need to upgrade the software.
