First of all...sorry if my english isnt the best, because im portuguese and somethimes its not easy to wright...but lets go to the point of this post...

U seem to be very happy with omnia and if seen a lot,but really a lot of reviews of omnia and i can almost say that is 50% opinion of a good phone...50% opinion of a bad phone...and im confused...

I had many phones...nokia...blackberry...sony..qtek...samsung...and nothing made me really happy than n95-8g because of the camera and audio...3,5 jack was also a good thing...but im tired of nokias and omnia seems to have a great relation price/qualaty but then again...is it realy good? Pictures? audio with the adaptor for 3,5 headphones? Apps to install i saw a lot but can we use the 8g memory or just the internal memory of the phone?

Try to make a review more especific if u can or want. I could gave u my email so we could change opinions but then again this is not the safest place to do it and i know that maybe u dont have the time to "help" me decide if it is a good choice or not.

Anyway...thanks for all ur posts and sorry for any mistakes :)

Having this phone for 1 year makes me say that an WinMo phone kicks the hell out of any other operating system, including Symbian or Apple's iphone os. First of all because there are tens of thousands of available apps just waiting to be downloaded. And I mean serious apps, like GPS software, calculators with the ability to draw function graphics, integrate or differentiate a given function without sticking and having to reopen application dozens of times like on symbian, hd and senzor control games like FerrariGT, registry and system cleaning apps, much faster and better web browsers and so on. So, if you have to choose between phones... choose the WinMo OS one. So, Omnia or Touch Diamond. Between these i would choose Omnia 99,9% because it has: bigger screen (3.2 vs 2.8 inch), 8/16gb vs 4gb hdd space, 5mpx (face and smile detection, image stabilization, wide dynamic range) vs 3.15mpx camera, 624Mhz vs 528Mhz CPU, 1440mAh vs 900mAh battery. Basically: it's faster, has more space, bigger screen, higher res camera and looks better. So, Omnia FTW. I agree that in the right hands, any winMo phone rocks but why not get the best of what you can afford and tune it to go better than anything else.

You will find inside a fully functional english DXIA5 firmware + the modem driver + usb drivers for Omnia. Now, all you need is an XP operating system computer. I recommend installing the samsung modem driver before updating. That can be done I think by connecting phone to computer and shutting down phone, maybe restarting. If that doesn't work, just run the executable on the DXIA5 updater and follow what it says. Sometime, on the middle of update phone will reboot and ask for modem driver so you'll pretty much have to have it close by, like.. on your desktop or something cause you only have 20 or so seconds to point him to the driver and let him install it. If you manage to do it in the 20 so seconds, then you're ok, update will finish and you'll have to let the phone restart for a couple of times until you calibrate screen. If you don't manage it, then you'll have to give him the driver and restart the updater and since you're already previously installed the modem driver, it won't ask for it again.
Also, you should start trying to find information yourself, you can't really wait for a knight in shinny armor to come every time you need something solved. :)
Rapidshare archive contains nothing illegal or warez. Just the DXIA5 firmware, usb driver and samsung cdma modem driver so please don't download it unless you really need also because it is available for only 10 downloads.

I just bought this phone today and I thought I was lucky that I bought the last one but sadly I was wrong. The phone was quite sluggish also I barely could see the screen in sun. But what really grind my gears was the fact that the Wi-Fi did not work at all! I took it back to the store, the technician look at it for nearly 4 hours and still could not solve this issues. I researched for hours online for countless solutions but none solved mine. And apparently I'm not the only one with wi-fi problems, many people have been have trouble detecting or being connected to wireless networks. I'm carry the phone back to exchange it for a Nokia 5800, hopefully that can make me happy again. To all future Ominia buyers, beware, and make sure that your wi-fi works before your warranty is up!

This is only possible with Word and Excel; but you can view powerpoint documents.

                          I hope this helps.

I have owned this phone now for 6 months and am completely disgusted and dissatisfied with this phone. I am on the verizon network.

The features of the phone its self are very nice, however the windows operating system severely limit the phones otherwise outstanding capabilities. Lets get one thing straight, this phone is not the phone it is advertised to be. It it no where close.

I have had to continually do hard resets on average of twice a month, the phone completely freezes multiple times a day, it is slow, laggy, has incredibly horrible battery life, and has no where near the amount of RAM, ROM, or storage space as advertised by the manufacturer.

The music player is decent, however the operating interface makes me think a drunken 5 year designed the user interface. The same goes to the radio player, which cannot operate without a headset being in place. In my opinion that kind of negates the whole purpose of having a radio on a smartphone. If I wanted to have to wear a headset while listening to the radio, wouldn't I just use a MP3 player or small pocket radio?

The camera and video camera portion of this phone are nice, but again it seems haphazardly designed and thrown together as a second thought. The 5.0MP is nice to have compared to a lot of other lesser MP camera's. However the camera can only be turned on from one position, it takes way too long to turn on, and once it does turn on taking pictures with it is cumbersome and annoying. Each time I take a photo, there is a nice little 5 step process you have to go through in order to take another picture again. Very annoying and infuriating when trying to take pictures on the go, or when events are happening and its nice to be able to just point, shoot, and capture.

Internet web browsing is this phones strongpoint. It comes with both microsofts internet explorer and the opera browswer. Both have their strong suites and features, however ive grown to realize that anything microsoft produces is crap, unreliable, buggy, and crashes often. Quite like this phone its self!! Imagine that!

Overall, Id rate this phone a solid 10 out of 10 as a paperweight. As a smartphone, PDA, whatever you want to call it however I can only give it an amazing 4 out 10. I'll never own another windows based phone ever again.

Excellent smartphone, executes mostly everything you need in a working/busy world, you are always connected, sending/receiving mails, viewing slides, editing, it is the best omnia ever constructed. Only one bug for me is zat the stylus/pen should have been integrated in the phone.

To All Omnia users,i'll just give you two advices :

                                      1) Your Problems over omnia actually have a very simple answer : Omnia is smartphone,so you need to be "SMART" to be able to see the real capabilities of it,so if you're not smart enough,or worse you don't want to be smart,FORGET THIS PHONE,it'll only make your days miserable.

2)What Jin said about changing to a new phone is true,he means it and once again it's true.

                                      Good luck with your omnias
