I have almost hacked cracked and done every kind of stuff to it. But, in my opinion, if you are a heavy user, then don't go for jelly bean update in samsung galaxy s advance. If you use phone mildly then jellybean update can be done. But i am sure that the better the update the lesser the ram available for use. If ram isn't your concern then go for the update dude..

I can have one for around 160 euro, a very good price i think for a midrange smartphone but in the same time i have some worries about the functionality of this phone running android 4.1.2 having in mind this will be the last update available for it and excluding using it running gingerbread. Some say it works better with jellybean, some are disappointed. I`ll probably give it a shot, at this price i can even sell it in profit and the next phone on my list is lumia 820. Never had a windows phone, i like the interface and because i`m not a heavy user the lack of some features won`t bother me to much.

Hope they make more fluent and faster firmware because I'm not happy with performance in JB.

I have been browsing various websites since a month, checking out this handset, watched youtube videos related to it dozen of times. I don't know if this handset is worth it or not. But i have ordered it from flipcart and i hope it will work flawlessly. I have seen many people complaining about a network issue, but i hope that once i change the network settings to 'gsm only' i'll be able to use it properly. Some people said that users must install a new kernel update of ginger bread version. Besides this i won't try to update it to icecream sandwich or jellybean. 70% people say that gingerbread is the best and it doesn't eat a lot of ram. I need to reserve the ram for my high end gaming requirements. Some say battery life is also favoured with the kernel update of ginger bread. I called up many samsung s advance users to enquire about the handset and they never mentioned anything about network error. Frankly speaking i am a new user to an android phone and still haven't received my set, but i hope i have done my homework well, by downloading as many games and apps to favour my set. I hope that after all this i would not be disappointed with the set's performance. Its just for 14k nowadays and they have stopped its production too. Life could be enjoyable if you take a little risk. By the way GSMARENA officials, i Love your site. Hats off.

Hyderabad nawabs, 07 May 2013dear friend I have updated my s advance from service... moreno they can't do this.the issue u r facing I had also bt I resolve it 90% only lags when I play temple run, I reset my phn after updating it n do remember do not install any thard prty app they did't work well with jb

updated to jelly bean yesterday. jb is working good except a minor lag in contacts. I updated through service centre and Did factory reset twice before and after updating.

I plan to buy S advance. I seen old review.. lot of person compliant s advance had network work pbm so don't buy this mobile.. Still anybody having network pbm in this mobile or not. what are the drawback in this mobile. Plz anybody help. Shall i buy this mobile or not.

Do not lock the phone or turn off the screen while loading or playing the games.
To avoid automatic screen lock or auto screen off, set the screen timeout to 1 min and doing so will not affect your SGSA battery life
