with samsung galaxy s losing the support and discontinued and same case with many other models, the mid smart phone segment is gonna be vacant for coming days...its either an entry level smart phone or the high end....what if some one could not afford a high end phone but wanna catch up with the older sibilings??...:(

That's roughly 750 US/Canadian dollars. Hopefully, with a 3year contract, it'll cost less than 300 dollars to pick up this awesome beast. I mean if you're looking for more affordable devices, there are always other series you can look into or other brands...

A phones success not only lies on the specifications but also on the correct pricing....at the end of the day its about the bang for the buck.....the reduction in costs only depends upon the phones success in market(ex.nokia 5800 exp music)...but now a days the manufactures don give enuf time for a product to be fully tested and certified as succesful...they just keep pushin forward with new technology and don support the already sold ones(generally discontinued),which results in absurd pricing of the every new lauch(to subsidise the r&d)....this goes to all the brands....i shud appreciate nokia for this reason..since they are reliable(less symbian :( ...)....with this trend v shud expect a smart phone of the future(say quad core/12 mp/3d/4g/blah/blah) would be costing nothing less than 1500 $/1000 pounds/70000 INR.....does any 1 agree with me or am i the only one feeling this??...........:(

I think that the Galaxy did have decent life though. I also think they could get better batteries than they do. I think the most simple fix though is everyone should start using lithium polymer batteries for better battery life, more capacity, and less room used.

SGS2 will blow other phones out of the water when it is released. I mean just read the specification for the phone. I think it's going to be another winner from Samsung - BTW I don't have shares in Samsung nor do I work for them, therefore, the compliments are based on experience of SGS1 which I have had since it came out and can see how the new version will be much better. As for the iPhone 4 - we must appreciate it's due to popularity it is seen as a good phone and not because it has functionality that other phones don't. Samsung easily has more functionality... I look forward to SGS2.
