my Samsung galaxy S II , GT191000 does not show the network, all the other features work properly
as per the Samsung service centre the phone cannot be repaired.

My SGS2 is over 3 years old. Original battery still lasts 1 day. Now running CM12.1 ie Lollipop 5.1.1 (121115 Nightly) - flawlessly - fast gps fix - Free, Spirit2 FM radio installed is superb. One recent issue was phone often disconnect from network! Fixed by pressing down and slightly bending the sim card metal cover, applies more contact pressure to the sim gold contacts - now never disconnects from network! Lollipop wifi draining battery faster than Jellybean. Battery lasts much longer on 2G. A BUG in Lollipop is switching back to 3G. Wont do this automatically, says "3G(current 2G)" you have to go >Settings>Data usage, then disable and then enable "Mobile data" I have found to get back into 3G mode. My favourite apps/features - Calendar, txt/email, camera, bbc news, bbc weather widget, FM radio through main speaker often works without headphone antena, paid for version includes RDS!! For security I have my device encrypted. Always used a dual skin case-mate cover, recent new anti-fingerprints screen protector - super smooth! Looking forward to Marshmallow release for my SGS2. FM radio is so cool hahaha SGS6 owners can never have it because their hardware is disabled! But there is a big global drive for all mobile phones to include it as standard from now on, for emergency broadcast reasons etc so it might come in SGS7!? The SGS2 is still such a great device and lovely one handed form factor. I have a £5/m sim-only contract these days and am very happy! Yipeeee

i've have updated to lollipop but it gets too hot and drains battery very quick , so i decided to downgrade to jelly bean works better
