My super nice SGS2 has been intermitently disconnecting from GSM network for no reason say 4-6 times every day. I had to frequently reboot to get to reconnect. This was going on for months. Driving me crazy.
Just discovered this evening in superuser mode I was able to delete a dodgy app called 'Torch' as in light torch that had nasty permissions to record pics and audio!! It would not uninstall without being in superuser mode..
Now my SGS2 does not disconnect from the GSM network!!! YIPEEEEE
***PS I always cover my front camera with a bit of black tape. Guess this app didnt like the fact it couldn't take photographs by itself?!
PPS Also installed Spirit1 FM radio that connects to the built in fm radio api. I have a custom rom that had no radio. So now my radio works for first time ever! There is a free version of this app on xda-developers.
Pheeeew, feel like I have a new phone. SGS2 otherwise flawless for last 3 years still on same good battery!

the sensor of my s2 isnt working well. It just goes to bottom and right side.... I cant even take the picture it gets upside down. and the next is . it does not show the usb options for mass storage.. it just charges when plugged in via usb...
how to fix these issues???

my phone keep getting hot within a secounds its make my battery drain fast what is the problem and some times no service i need the feedback

I have had this phone for like 4 months and I love every bit of it. I got it locked to T-Mobile but got it unlocked at the end of September. And the call quality of it is top notch. Anyone needing a good, reliable, cheap phone. I recommend the Samsung Galaxy S II.

2 follow the steps
3 it will install kitkat on your phone everything will be deleted from previous version cwm recovery will install by itself
4 go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/development-derivatives/rom-cyanogenmod-12-t2955551
download the latest build 06/17 and latest gapps follow instructions on the xda website
it may come up with a error message (something about directory or dev partition 12 or something) forgot
5 wait takes long
6if its done properly you are gonna go through set up complete and then go to cyaonogen update and update to latest nightly there is no current stable build of 5.1
we might be able to get a marshmallow update soon and btw everything works i use this rom as daily driver work perfect

16, 24 Oct 2015guys how can l update my galaxy s2 to lollipop version 5.1.1Doenload Resurrection Remix 5.5.7 ROM, install via CWM or TWRP bootloader / rootkits. IF you don't have already that, download ODIN 3 and the Samsung USB drivers. Instructions available aplenty on the Net.

Hahaha..I like this phone very much..I frequently upgrade this phone with cynagonmod rom's it work owesome and smooth.I played coc and much more heavy game..this phone is like an old car with new engine.. Currently I'm using android lollipop 5.1.1 and now waiting from developer to launch android M on it...sorry bad language

Iam a xda developer of i9100...Blv me this is a big hoax about Lollipop...i9100 in no way can support android L with samsung bloatware and touchwiz.
