indecision, 06 Jun 2011well, this phone as great specs but how is it on real life ... moreI got my phone today...first impressions:
Speed: really fast(no lag at all)
Display: awesome!
Sound: headphones sound:good (not as good as my omnia 2)loudspeaker: good
Battery life: good(since i only have it for one day i can't say much)
The feel of the phone: really light in weight, solid, good built, no finger print magnet(as my omnia 2)
Incoming/outgoing calls quality: I think it's a little bit lower than my Omnia 2,but good overall
Music player does not have SRS WOW HD but it has 5.1 channel.Although I personally think WOW HD is better
Internet browsing: fast

well, this phone as great specs but how is it on real life conditions?
and it looks a bit vulgar and cheap... not sure if I will buy it.
What is the point of buying an expensive phone if it looks cheap and common? Ok, I don't want a pretensions phone but would you buy a Mercedes or Rolls-Royce if they looked as an Hyundai?
I don't think so.
It can have the specs of a high end, but it hasn't got the looks or the feel of a top of the range.

I am trying to upgrade my sgs2 firmware to KE7 but i get a weird message from Kies saying that " This version of the device cannot be updated". its a brand new unlocked phone which I got from an official retailer in chennai here. Does that mean there's no new firmware available or there's something wromg? Anybody from chennai who have tried to update their firmware?

Will this phone have any competitors say in 6 months, when i will renew my plan and get this baby for free? or will others take the crown? im thinking of these, please compare samsung users, my last samsung was a feature TDMA phone that is more than obselete
iPhone 5 - out of the picture though i have a macbook i hate the limitations and i dont want to jailbreak it every 2 months..

but I had on mine and its been return and so as many people according to carphone warehouse manager I spoke to. so this may not have affected every handset, but anyone that I know of having this phone, managed to see this yellow spot.
This is a general issue and I am really amaized how your handset not affected.

what I pointed out is a fact, I love SII, and I believe apart from build which is cheap the internal functions are fantastic, that is why I bought one, but having a YELLOW spots over my screen is not on, and no one should keep their phone if they see this, I returned mine and many other people did.
its a time to be mature about this mate, you paid for it , so it need to fit the spec they selling this to you.

if not please have your eyes tested, as yellow spots are there and many people reported and return this phone for that reason

[deleted post]Mate, I appreciate people get so attached to their phone and like to put a blind eyes on certain fault, I was like that to some extend and of course there is a limit you should compromise. SII is a great phone no doubt, but screen yellow spot is there and its a problem which gets worse and not better. The shop manager told me he had many return to the point of panic. Samsung messed it up with this fault, and I certainly returned mine, I shall still wait to see if they can fix it or replce it with the new one, but if not fully sorted I just go with something else.
I don't want to look at the yellow screen everyday (specially once it start getting worse) remember this phone is new and yet this yellow spots can turn worse.

by the way you can upgrade Samsung Galaxy S where you can't do this upgrade for Samsung Galaxy S II !!!!! :(
