This is the first phone where Samsung went on a roll! The one that started it all. The Verizon or CDMA one is MUCH better, however. I am using it as one of my collector's items, and it works like a phone. Of course, it's not worth it, but it's nice to look back at the phone where Samsung started to improve phones. Look where Samsung is at now! I'm so impressed! The S1 and S2 are fine, but the S3 is a MAJOR improvement, and like I said, that's when Samsung went on a roll.

This phone is very good today if you custom rom it, even more powerful than the budget phones.

Purchased in 2014. Now it is used as a "secondary phone" - just purchased another cheap 1 year phone plan costing $100/year (works out to $8.33/mo). A good cheap PHONE when you need a PHONE.

has anyone been able to update the google play store on this phone? i'm on android 4.3 and i've tried everything to update the play store, but it still won't work... what should i do? i'd like to keep this s3 as a secondary phone.

KY, 29 Jun 2022The samsung S3 is unusable in 2022 you kids cannot use this... moreIt being unusable is a bit of a stretch, sure jellybean is old and unsupported but you can load Android 12 on it through a custom rom and still get latest versions of apps, (with slightly major lag and stutter ofc), all that aside if you still main a Galaxy S3 after 10 years i salute you ^^
