No. What's puzzling me is that there is no set... moredoes he sweat alot?
water left on the screen when you pull away can mute the call. try to keep the screen dry. The moisture from sweat can pass as a finger swipe or even a tap.

No. What's puzzling me is that there is no set pattern to it. I have seen my friend use his phone to make a call, begin talking, and take it away from his ear because the phone has switched to 'silent' mode and he can't hear the caller; yet there are times when it doesn't do it for a couple of days. That is what is so frustrating, there is no logic to it happening.
Without a pattern I can't decide whether it's hardware or software causing it. It's one thing to say 'Take it into a Samsung Service Centre' but it might work perfectly while it's there. I need to identify the problem first.
This is the first phone I haven't been able to sort out and that's pi$$ing me off!

Yeah, that's me.
I have a new problem for you. My friend's S3 keeps going into 'silent mode' by itself. I have seen it do it. I select 'sound' mode, leave the phone for a few minutes, and when I release the lockscreen it is in 'Vibrate' or 'Silent' mode. It's easy enough to reset, but it's inconvenient because you miss calls or text.
I thought it might be a rogue app, so I uninstalled every one on the phone but the problem persisted.
Then, out of desperation, I reflashed the phone, cleaned out the cache, and then reset it; but still no luck.
I've Googled the problem and it seems to happen to other people, but nobody seems to know the solution.
Now I'm thinking it's a hardware problem... unless you know better?

As for my wants, hay I just put them out there in the hopes that the right person is reading that can do something about it. :)
I take the attitude of “a smart phone should be as personalised as you want it to be down to the last detail, not what the manufacture says it has to be”.
In my book that’s what really differentiates a smart phone from a feature phone.

I agree with you about the keys, but hey, you can't have everything you wish for.
With the dialpad up, go Tools/Theme (top left hand corner), and then 'More'. I downloaded Black (not bad), and Ocean Blue (my favourite).
I also like the 'Gesture Dialing'. When you have a long list of Contacts it's so easy to just write the first letter of their name on the Dialpad to call them. And on the 'Call Log' screen, just swipe Right on a contact to call them or left to text them. (That's how I set mine up anyway).

Its all about getting the most for your money.
SIII is already 1 YEAR CLOSER to being discontinued and no longer supported for official OS upgrades.
but if you already have a SIII you can skip a model year or 2.

I like the style of the favourites.
And that I can add it to the task bar for quick access when I’m in an app.
I’ll use it for now till you find something even better :-) (Maybe with some depth in the dial pad. The keys look so flat._
