I too leave most things on and get 14-16 hours. I don't complain about it because is what be expected with all the connectivity and screen size.

I've read about the battery that must die. Something to do with the memory showing the % that needs to "learn" the bottom and the top % of the battery. Interesting.

I try to let my battery go totally dead once a month, its said to be good for the cells.
but on a average day I have an usb cable in the car and one by my PC in work, which is used for interval top-ups. so I have no need for a second battery.

And my son easily got through a day and charge it by night. I ask myself the question, if the battery can serve its purpose during the day, it is fine to charge it while u sleep at night.... I had a Nokia e72 for about four years and I can say that it probably has THE BEST battery life among all the smartphones. Which phone can beat a battery that can last for almost a week especially if the power saving mode is activated? So I wonder why i9300 wins in gsmarena's specs(referring to battery), and yet everyone is complaining about it? I want to buy the phone but the battery is one of my concerns.

                      BATTERY on stand-by
                      i9300 - Up to 590 h(2G)/ Up to 790h(3G)
                      e72 - Up to 480 h(2G)/ 576 h(3G)

                      Talk time
                      i9300 - Up to 21 h 40min(2G)/ Up to 11h 40min(3G)
                      e72 - Up to 12 h 30min(2G)/ 6h(3G)

Jason, 02 Jan 2013Thanks man! I would rather get a portable charger instead.... more@ Jason

I have one of those chargers as well, a 10000Mah one. They are good, but....
                        1) They are bulky, not convenient to slip in your pocket.
                        2) The charger is a lot heavier than a spare battery.
                        3) It takes a couple of hours to charge your phone.

On the plus side, I have managed to charge my S3, my daughter's Iphone 5, her ipod (twice), and my Samsung Galaxy S mp3 player with it when we were away for a weekend recently. Better than carrying a selection of mains chargers around.

Thanks God that my friend just gave me one 11200mah portable charger.. free!

Btw, i am not whining, i am just voicing out my feedback on a great product which can be greater if Samsung can improve its battery handling area.

This is what I did, which would solve your problem as well.
I purchased 2 x 2200Mah batteries and a desktop charger from a well known company. I can't tell you the name because it might be considered advertising, but if you add a 'W' to the front of it, it becomes a rude word (LOL). These batteries are superior to the stock ones and last about 25% longer. I always carry the spare one with me (it takes up very little space in my pocket), and if one battery gets low it is just a case of cover off, battery out, battery in, cover on, and restart. Result - a fully charged battery in my phone in less than 60 seconds.
Instead of whining about it do something about it !
Oh yeah, the batteries and charger cost me £7.99 from the battery manufacturer via Amazon.

What is the reason to get a quad core smartphone with great graphics capability but just use it like a "phone"?

"2 don't charge while using the phone"
Yes and No. Most of the time i don't.
But when my battery is drain out and i need to make important calls, i need to get another phone?

"secondly there are many batteries in the market there is even 6000 mah unofficial it will screw your phone so go for that buy the original s3 3000 mah battery releasin on Jan 5 specially done for s3"
Yes, provided that you sacrifice the great form factor of S3 and there will be no protective cover for your bulk extended battery S3.

Only my mobile data is always on since i need to keep contact with my Whatsapp friends most of the time.
Hence i cannot turn off my mobile data.
I tried turning on the Power Saving mode most of the time too, but it does not really help much.
S3 is one of the most powerful device in the market now.
What is the point of owning a S3 if i am so restricted in the usage just to save maybe one or two hours of extra battery life?
I hope the next firmware update from Samsung can really improve the battery life handling.
