But it's all up to you. And what makes you happy.
You have to boot into Android recovery if you do decide to clear the cache partition b.t.w.
Then do the factory reset in there right after.

Just clear your cache partition and factory reset right after the flash to avoid unexplained errors.

I bought SGS3 box packed just 4... moreGsmaren spec. Was written when the phone came off the assebly line with 4.0.4. If your device came off the assembly line after 4.1.1 came out, it's going to come with 4.1.1
Soon they are going to be coming off the assembly line with 4.1.2
Mine came with a 4.0.1
It all has to do with date of assembly.
So what is your real concern? Because it don'tomatter what it comes with. What matters is that you keep your phone up to date and well maintained on the software and hardware side.
Because lack there of will lead to system failure.
