today i get my brand new galaxy s3 international unlocked version. but i pretty much confused about the 1st initial charging. some r said first drain the battery and then charge it..bt some r said charge s3 1st then use. how long i should charge my galaxy s3?? please help me about this...please......

about charging.
but first needs a rooted phone
install siyah kernel 1.8 only for jellybean
u will find an app called Stweaks
inside u can change the phone behaviour when charging.
mine changed from 1mA to 1.2mA now charges full in less than 2 hours
the USB charging chaned from 0.475mA to 0.975mA now the USB charges in 3hours as if the normal wall mounted charging.
brilliant isn't it ! i love android !

i have upgraded mine s3 to 4.1.1 jelly bean at Indonesia for a month ago,..
and now i am waiting for firmware 4.1.2..
and just saying that it was an awesome smartphone...
just run smoothly....,
i like it very much....,
gladly recommend it to everyone.....

finally got a remote app to control W.M.C. from the phone,
and its called myRemote. LOL
all I need now a garmin and I can retire my HD2

Had this phone for a few weeks had to sell it thank god i purchased the one x plus. This phone was just horrible looking with its cheap looking ways. Hated the black ui in almost every setting. Jellybean made it lag even more with the ota the phone was much more responsive with 4.0 ics.

sam9teen, 03 Dec 2012Then what about connecting it to laptop? N y it shows charg... moreUSB charging always takes ALOT longer and how much longer depend on the version USB on your laptop and how the laptop feeds power to each USB port in use at the same time.
For a true charging test you should charge from a wall outlet.
If you are getting a USB logo from the wall outlet. Its because the wrong pins in the micro USB port on the phone is being bridged.
You see the phone knows the difference between a wall and a PC because the wall only gives power to 2 or 3 pins in the usb cable. When you connect to a PC, power is supplied to the additional pins for data transfer.
The fact that you are getting the logo when charging on the wall means that some how additional pins are binging supplied with power even on a wall outlet.
There are to ways this can happen, a short in the USB cord or lint and moisture are bridging connectors in the port on the phone. The lint most time come from unclean pockets, and may be to small to see with the naked eye.
I have had this problem with my HTC HD2 after it was over 2years old so I know how I fixed it. Also had friends with the same problem in a shorter time from putting the phones in work jumpers.
What to do…
1. Try a next cable on a wall outlet, if you still see the logo you know it’s not the cable.
2. Now you know it’s the pins in the usb port of the phone that are bridged you going to have to clear it. (You NOT going to like this but you HAVE to do it.)
Clean the connector on the USB cable the best way you can.
Then put it firmly into the USB port as far as it can go, then violently rock it from side to side. This will free up anything that is bridging any pins in the USB port.
I know it sounds crazy but it works. Don’t rock it front to back as you may rip the port off the motherboard. Only rock it side to side. Violently rock it 3 or 4 time. If that don’t work you can try compressed air (don't use the air fist because it make condensate) . If none of these work you going to have to take it back.
