Anthony, 12 Nov 2012WM had more in common with Android so if you didn’t like WM... moreIf you don't like iphone UI & closed system, then you won't probably like Win8 phone either. I've used nokia win ph but haven't yet used win8 phone. Its pretty sleek & almost like ios. But lack of apps is the main problem.
If u are into MS office, xbox & Skype(ms bought), then win phone is the way to go.

Btw, how did u instal custom rom in ur S3 without rooting your ph?

I have had my HD2 stolen twice and had to use tracking software to hunt the thief down. So I'm not going to be overly helpful when someone I taking about formatting to remove passwords.

I could see coming to Android as a bad idea.
I’m dieing to see WP8 in the wild. Really want to see if it has what it takes to bring me back to Microsoft. (You already know how I feel about WP7)
Apple is getting better with each version but I’m all about that custom fit & drag/drop use of files without conversions. So the 1 look of the iPhone UI and iTunes is just not for me.

Probably never will look into it with this phone because I was able to change my ROM many times without rooting.
Finding a way to clear your cache is good too (if your are paranoid) but being new to Android I couldn’t say if its done the same way on all devices.

But if you selling shouldn't you restore the original ROM? Let the new owner decide if they want to put on a cooked ROM or not.

Is this the same syrus that had the HD2?
Didn't you sell that to get a blackberry?

Anthony, 12 Nov 2012Ooooo if you want it to work like 2 independent accounts, t... moreI know its not related to Galaxy 3 but it is related to android OS. I have Motorola Atrix which is gathering dust in my drawer. Of course my main phone is iphone4s.

I just could not get along with android despite trying so many times. It just laggy, horrible battery, sub-standard apps etc. May be it gotta to do with Motorola device….hope not the same with S3. So, I like to sell my Motorola Atrix. I have already rooted & running CM7 on it. It was a nightmare to root & instal custom ROM on Motorola device. Its not as easy as in samsung. Anyway, somehow I managed to instal CM7 on it……it was really long process that now I don't even remember how I did it.

So the question is…I need to delete & remove all my personal info, apps, docs etc from device. Can I achieve this by doing "Factory Reset" or do I need to do sth else since the device is already rooted & running custom rom? All I want is……remove all my traces from the device before i sell. It has internal memory of 16 gb + 16gb sd card. For sd card, I all just remove it.

i'm still looking for a Garmin app for Android. so i can retire the HD2.
Navitel is just too complicated so i abandoned it.

                              To: Dee,
                              genius nooo
I’m here everyday trying to learn more about Android and this phone from comments, questions & answers in the forum.
All I know of android is from trying to make this phone a true replacement for my beloved old hours HTC HD2, so I have been doing allot of digging to get things just the way I want it. Email and contact sorting is a big deal to me.
So on my strike list I would have to put... why can’t I have individual contacts sorted by there company name instead of there first/last name.

e.g. if I want to call John Dow from the loans department in “take my money bank” why is it showing up in my contacts list only as John Dow? He is not my friend. I will not always remember his name to find it fast.
On the HD2 I could let that one contact be sorted as “take money bank/john”
The next thing is some people I know by first name and others by last name. I want the choice so say who gets sorted how. If the old HD2 running WM could do it, I know Android or Samsung could give me that in an update.
After all it’s a communications device first all the rest after. So quick access to people should be #1
Nice touch having to put phone to head to call from SMS but that dealer needs some serious work because it’s not too smart.

Great phone. Too bad the build quality is so bad. The plastic around it it's not even high end plastic. The back cover is almost as thin as a piece of paper, it feels like it.s gonna break if you press harder. Come on Samsung...no one cares if the phone weighs 20 grams more or less, just make it sturdy and use good materials not cheap crap to make it less heavy.

Go to security and setup “remote controls” and “sim change alert”.
I recommend using at lease 2 #s to get the sim change alert. 1 should be a person that does not live with you. (so both phone don’t get taken at the same time.) It also helps if that person phone can access google maps

After you set-up the account just go to the samsungdive web page and try it out so you know how things work for if every the time comes that you need to use it.
