1) Why should Samsung update this phone when they made it clear that they would only support it for 18 months?
2) The S3 cannot run the latest Firmware because it only has 1Gb of RAM. I know that phones with lower RAM than that can run KitKat but the S3 is bogged down with the memory hogging Touchwiz and all the useless apps that no-one ever uses and it can't run KK as well.
Those are the two reasons why the S3 will NOT advance above Android v4.3

Another one who can't be bothered to look at the specifications.
I told someone a few days ago who was asking about the Corning glass to look at the specs and now here's another one.
See the pane of the left of these posts? See the heading 'Specifications'? Yes? Click on that. Under the Heading 'Memory' it clearly states - micro SD, up to 64Gb.
You only have to look ! ! ! ! !

my s3 oleady 3 years no problem at all........still standing tall not even fail me. the best smartphone ever had...........plan to buy s6 later if release,,...........

I have been using this phone for over a year now.. Performance looks good, However no upgrade to KitKat, Sad after paying so much now i can use this phone for long.

Samsung always stated that they would support this phone for 18 months with firmware updates. The S3 is almost 3 YEARS old now. Get your facts right!

By default, S-Voice opens when you double press the Home button in quick succession; so when you press the Home button once the phone waits to see if you are going to press it again.
Open the app drawer and start S-Voice. Press the left soft button and select Settings. The second option down is 'Open via the home key' Untick that option and the Home button works faster.

I recommend 4.4.4 is the best version for s3 we have many roms
I use slimkat or liquidsmooth

Hi all. I have been using s3 from last 2years. I m highly satisfied with this gadget.camera is simply awesome. Beautiful and handy. Yes I know the latest upgrades are not available but u can use different launchers or root ur phone. Battery back up is decent. Also played games asphalt 7 & real raving 2. Gud experence. I am going to root it soon. Far better than grand 2 and many more. Thanks.

American version of S3 (Verizon) i535 is available in pakistan brand new injust Rs15000 equal to 150 Us Dolars... verizon S3 i535 got 2 gb ram, newer generation faster processor dual core krait 1.5 ghz ... I was amazed it is much faster than quadcore of i9300... quadrant score of i535 is 7352 and i9300 scored 6960.. I hv both phones... but i535 is far more better in cpu and gpu than i9300... other than that all things r same... so go for i535 with official kitkat 4.4.2 u wont find any other mobile in this price range... and keep in mind i9300 will never get official kitkat due to 1gb ram so i535 is much cheaper superior with 2gb ram and official kitkat 4.4.2
