Hi all,
I brought my GS3 in July this year from Harvey Normans for $400.00 AUS this first handset lasted 5 weeks. The proximity sensor stopped working and I could not end a call because the screen went black and nothing I did could wake it up again. Luckily Samsung replaced the phone free of charge. Now my replacement phone has little or no cell connection and I can't make calls on it. This phone is only 6 weeks old. Its currently at Samsung Service Plaza getting a new mainboard fitted and I am hoping I have no more trouble with the phone. I have many Samsung products in my house and for the most they are good products its just i'm having a bad run with their phones. WARNING: Don't put a external antenna on your S3 because you will not have cell connection if you do.

Your S3 has Android 4.3 Jellybean which is the very latest update from the GS3 ICS is what the phone came out with on its release so your phone is running the very latest rom on it. Also to help save battery life turn off Sync all your accounts because it just eats the battery very fast.

I had the same problem as you. The problem is the power button due to wear and tear or power button is stuck. Solution, send back to shop for repair it (safer route) or if you dare do like this video (do it on your own risk)..

Do you know why ????
The answer : because they don't know how to manage the system and apps to get the maximum energy of the battery ....
Many users are installing many apps, for example, more than 60 apps. While in fact they don't use more than 10 apps !!!! Do you know that the rest of the apps are running in the background and consuming all of the battery even if it were not used !!!!!
The main idea you have to install the important apps that use in your daily life. And delete unimportant apps. also turn off ( disable ) unnecessary Samsung and Google services & apps in order to save RAM and battery life ....

can someone please make some suggestion!
basically I recently bought a galaxy s3 which is not rooted and runs the latest 4.3 jelly bean OS.
for 3 weeks the phone was perfect and suddenly it has started to power off and go to GALAXY logo mode, seems like it is shutting down but it can't do so.
I am getting this with no warning while the phone is still ON, and then even if I take the batter out and back in again it wouldn't resolve the issue!.
I managed to do a factor reset, but sadly still the same problem insists, so basically I can manage to get the phone working for 5 minutes, but soon after it goes to this funny mode with Galaxy logo coming on and off, !!
can someone please make some suggestion! I have tried the above and has not resolve the issue..
anyone else had the same problem? how do I solve this?

W... moreYes ... it's a long time to show contacts !!!! Normal situation 0-3 seconds ....
Go to settings > developer options scroll down to Drowing :
select animation is off for ( windows animation scale - transion animation scale - animator duration scale ) .

When press contact, it will take about 10s to 15s to display my contact, it is very slow..... is already few months,tried to do factory reset, still same... any body have ideal?

helfire, 14 Dec 2014main issue for the S3 to restart or reboot is the power but... moreLook for an app called Quick Boot from playstore. You wont need to use power button, but you must be rooted.

I have noticed that the dimensions of the International version are slightly bigger than other versions, meaning that protective covers won't fit unless taking back cover off. Also I have never been able to get S Beam to work :/
Recently I needed to change the screen due to a damage and in the store they told me the spare is incompatible. Is this true that this might take a different screen replacement as well?
(GT-I9300 International version)
