also i recommend getting wp clock 2 (live wallpaper but is basically a full screen widget showing time,date,weather,battery percentage etc..looks awesome too) i have that running with nova launcher and again the phone is again noticeably quicker than stock touch wiz

... moreThanks I will try changing my browser but I want to use touch wiz as I like to use phones how they were designed to be used and don't want to have to go through setting up all my home screens etc, and also most of the Samsung widgets such as the weather and time one does not work with Nova launcher.
I should just be able to use it without lag straight out of the box!

Had this phone for a week now and miss my iphone so much I'm not a fanboy of apple but they do every think better why did I not wait for the iphone 5 :-(

otherwise go to settings/wallpaper/lockscreen

It was a good idea to wait and see the Lumina 920. This seems to be the future of mobile phones with wp8 having far greater potential than Android. Regardless of personal preferences, the future has been cast in stone and all the os manufacturers from Android to Apple can rest on their laurels at their peril. I like what I see and where wp8 is going. That is why Samsung is building top end and mid range wp8 devices. SIII is the last of its race.

I love this phone and have been using it for 3weeks now after I returned my HTC one x.
It is fast and smooth and everything you expect the current 'best Android phone' to be...
But what's with this home screen lag? I use the internet for about a couple of mins flicking through different pages on my (international / Vodafone UK) Sgs3 and when I press the home button I have to wait 2-3 whole seconds for it to slowly redraw the home screen. That is bullshit! And not what I expect from the top boy. I never had this problem with even my original htc desire of 2years ago. I have been on the net trying to find solutions but nothing seems to work and it is a common problem I have since learned. I have tried disabling s voice etc and that was a waste of time. I have a plain black static wallpaper and the standard weather and time widget plus as few apps on my home screen which should be a piece of piss for a quad core. I am on 4.0.4 and there is no update available (as it was suggested that an update had been issued to fix this).
Who else has noticed this problem and is there a known fix? My friend has the same problem too (O2 international sgs3). It is really starting to piss me off. I would have stayed with my one x if I had known a bout this!

Useing that whole black which I download for all homescreens and its Black but on Lock screen looks like on the pic I post early ... with brighter greyish parts :-(

Have you tried covering the camera lens and taking a photo. Then use the (Black) image as wallpaper.

I don't use wallpaper on my S3 either, it's just a battery waster and you can see the screen more clearly in sunlight if it is black.
If you want to swap between 'Wallpaper' and 'NO wallpaper' download the app I use. it works fine on a S3. just install it and it appears on the wallpaper list.
