.there is a free app called ram booster that is a no gimmic one button close running apps app. But then still they also restart. It seems to work well when the background services are limited and close the running apps quickly.

I dont know if I am missing something regarding closing running apps, but even if I manually close all running apps and background running services, then still after gaming for 30 mins I find that 99% of the apps have opened by themselves.

with the developer options then sure I can keep background services to at most 4. But that way some of my games and particularly BT connection when gaming stops working properly.

I have an overheating issues problem on my s3 on version 4.2 and 4.3
          but I have notice something,
When I did custom rom my s3 on "s5 sensations"
Activated the ultra power saving mode for a while..and then deactivated it...

          Overheating is gone.
I don't know but im so happy
finally found a solution for my overheating phone.

            Long time no see.
Actually, I only have two phones. I use one for work, and that is the number I give to my suppliers, contractors, etc.
The other phone is used for family and friends because they kept telling me that my phone was always busy, and only a few people have the number. I hope that satisfies your curiosity.
I updated from a S3 to a S4 but was disgusted to find that the S4 had the KNOX spyware embedded in it which you couldn't remove so I sold it. Presently I have a S3 (work), and a Nexus 5 (family). I chose a N5 because when Samsung abandoned the S3 regarding firmware updates I decided that I would NEVER buy one of their products again. I know other S3 owners who decided the same, so it's Samsung's loss. It's a shame because the S3 is still working perfectly after 2 years of being dropped, kicked, and generally abused.
One other point though. Because I use my S3 for work, and travel a lot, I purchased a Zerolemon 7000mAh battery for it because I didn't know when I could charge it. Fully charged, I can get up to 5 days use out of it!

dd, 31 Oct 2014Hi, I've already did wat "alsafi" said. 1. But... more@ dd

                  1) I haven't found that reducing the animation makes a lot of difference to be honest.
                  2) I agree with 'alsafi' that Quickpic is better for your needs. It's a nice app that shames Samsung's effort.
                  3) Keep the app cache cleaner you are using. It is handy for a quick fix for extra memory if your phone starts to lag.
The method I described clears ALL files from the cache because nothing is running, but if you are using a particular app then using an app cleaner at the same time will not clean the cache while it is in use.
I usually clean the cache from Recovery mode about once a month just to have a clean up.

                      1. But apart frm dat m askin if its beneficial to scale down those 3 parameters in Debugging tab.
                      2. Also my concern was not only speed but also d issue m facing dat i can't share anything frm my galery via BT or any social apps..this m facing after my last week factory data reset. :(
                      3. Another thing is that shall i uninstall app cache cleaner? if i can clean cache d way u advised (3 button technique) y shall i keep an app fr d same which wil also run behind

By all means change the settings you mentioned if you wish; you can always reset them afterwards if you wish.
I guess by your posts that you are trying to speed up your phone. Unfortunately you won't have much success with that because 1) The S3 is underpowered with only 1Gb Ram and 2) It is bogged down with that awful Touchwiz which is a real memory hogger.
The best thing to do is follow 'alsafi's' advice and disable any apps you don't use. Think 'Use it or lose it'. Why have an app running in the background if you never use it? Let's face it, half of the bloatware forced on us by Samsung never gets used by the average user anyway.
I got so fed up with Touchwiz slowing my phone down that I installed Nova and made it my default launcher. It is definitely a lot faster than Samsung's Touchwiz.

No, clearing the cache partition only cleans out the old files that are held there. It won't upset the performance of the phone in any way.
