TOLGAHAN, 12 May 2018Hi!
Please I have a problem with my Samsung Galaxy s4 i950... moreHi,
I would try to delete the dalvic cache. An error in the cache might cause your problem.
How to wipe the cache partition:
1.: shut down your phone
2.: hold volume up + home key + powerbutton about 5 sec
3.: you should have entered the boot menue
4.: sadly I don't know the exact steps, but try to navigate to something like "wipe cache" or so.
5.: delete the cache (this will not delete your personal data)
6.: restart your phone
good luck!

angry customer, 06 Nov 2017i dont know whats wrong with this phone but it is always ve... moreYou probably have one or more apps that are constantly running and overheating your CPU, that's bad for battery life and makes the phone run slowly... also isn't too good for the battery itself. Easiest, simplest way to deal with it is to get Cooler Master (free) at the play store. It will scan for the bad boys and let you know which apps are the problem. Thereafter it can automatically shut them down when they overuse the CPU (you decide which apps to allow this behavior for) or you can remove the apps that are problematic. I would say look for updated versions that don't do that, but if you're running stock and by the rules they are already updated and that itself may be one of the problems! I will add that my battery life can be as high as two days running cool, but lucky to get an hour sometimes, the phone does NOT handle heavy useage well! Good luck.

John-John, 31 May 2017please allow to update on 7.0 (Nougat) because this device ... moreYou can root your phone and then install nougat custom ROM, but I wouldn't yet, go with an earlier build, the Nougat roms are still in beta and missing features. I'm running Lolipop right now because Marshmallow manages the SD card in ways I don't like. But if you don't mind either losing the ability to read your SD card in your PC or being unable to control how the phone formats and uses the SD card, which you probably don't, go with Marshmallow, it's nice. I like the ressurrection remix rom, personally. google it xda resurrection remix 19500... have fun.

Rif, 02 Apr 2018@Tiara; "sd card is damage need to format or safe to remove... moreYou can go to settings, storage scroll down to the sd card and eject it, if it is damaged it may not be showing up at all. If it was formatted as external storage or just off the shelf you can try to repair it in windows put it in an sd slot or sd card reader, plug it into the PC and hit: START, in "search programs and files" type: cmd.exe right click on that and click on run as administrator. then type in the window that opens: chkdsk X /f /r [replace the 'X' with the Drive letter of your SD.] if it is formatted as internal phone memory, the windows operating system cannot access it to attempt repair or recovery. You can format it with free software one such (free can be got here: https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/
As to that, if the card failed because it was physically damaged, you might be able to recover some data off it, but you should NOT afterward try to use it, it's garbage now. Officially the i9500 supports up to a 64 GB sd card a class 6 will meet your needs since the phone can't use anything faster. I am using a 128 GB SD in my S-4 with no problems but can't swear you won't have problems if you try the same, if you can't read the sd card at all download one of the free programs to attempt recovery, there are several available, One is DiskDigger available free for android or windows: https://diskdigger.org/ Hope that answers your question and is helpful.

Tiara, 02 Apr 2018My problem is sd card..there's always pop-up "sd card is ... more@Tiara; "sd card is damage need to format or safe to remove or sd card amount..."; what size is your MicroSD card? 32GB? 64GB? 128GB?
What disk format does it use? FAT32? ExFAT? Check this on a PC.
FYI I use a 32GB card with FAT32 on SGS4, I never had any problem.

Samsung should release update 5.1.1 at least I have a 512 RAM phone it has android 5.1 & Samsung s4 has 2 GB RAM it will definitely handle it well. 6.0.0 marshmallow .
Samsung never listen to their user request .
Samsung perhaps doesn't know great power comes with great responsibility
that's why going down to level every ,
Xiaomi given nought update to its 2GB RAM mobile ,
Samsung is so lazy company
Xiaomi will wipe out Samsung in India oneday
give update to every mobile unless Samsung became dead like NOKIA
