yes- different networks have different signal strengths on the same spot - also different handsets /makers - have different responses to same network same signal strength same spot .. we have experienced this variations in signal drops and not having full 3g downgraded to 2g ..SAMSUNG has accepted signals and wifi issues on some s4 handsets .. ADVICE- by samsung has been to 1- check out with network shop tech "guru" or seek assistance from samsung service center .. you are asking -is it a brand or model or individual handset issue ? interesting query ..

I am not bashing samsung because i do like their phones. I dont care about build material, premium feel etc. I am not a specific fan of any brands(or are you?), i'm commenting based on my eyes. It irritated me when i start using 3g connectivity(no 4g lte yet),samsung signal tend to lost signal few time(my place has average signal reception) where as my wife other phone brands(not iphone) can do the same without problem. So tell me, do i need to go into the phone when i experienced those things first hand. Let see what you and other users out there have to write about. Thanks and bye bye..

The worst of samsung.. i bought s4 few months ago.but from he first hour the phone is heating when using multimesia.even when memory card is insertes the phones secondary camera part is overheating. am very disappointed by samsung. i also enquires this is common on other s4 mobiles .please dont buy samsung mobiles unless they solve the problem of overheating.go to apple or sony u wil get atleast satisfaction

I live in Germany and i have the octa core version. I get no update for Android 4.3. I also tried with Kies and it says that my version is the latest. Why is that?

It may not be noticeable to you as you might not have used that thing or the difference may be too small. Also no one is forcing you to download these updates for improving stability.

AnonD-169453, 10 Nov 2013Plz shubham how to install kies on my pc? Go to google, search samsung kies, go to the first link by samsung. install regular kies if you have 4.2.2 and kies 3 if you have android 4.3.

i am using samsung galaxy s4 ( i9505 black color). i bought it before 1 month ago. but from 1st time I see bettery life time is short as like 3 or 4 hours if I use internet. I am using 2G internet. Why this new bettary life time is only 4 hours??

There are no changes with second stability update (23.08mb). as said by some ignorant person, there is no much RAM availability and battery life is as usual.
@sachit: factory resetting your mobile surely gives you better RAM and more battery life and these things have nothing to do with this update.
Waiting for better updates from samsung !!

Its great Samsung give updates and quickly..
Another point is I had got few problems in my s4 month after first got it."Lookout" app found problem, it said that live HD Wallpaper was active in connecting to internet for ad malware.This was using battery,slowing phone and using up my network allowance and bandwidth.So when we have problems rogue apps can also be at fault and in this case a silly wallpaper..
What a lot do and not blaming anyone here is when you download app it ask for permissions.If you read these permissions some are extraordinary like asking to connect to premium rate lines for example,,why would that happen for a simple mp3 player app? I do not download these apps as you are GIVING permission and authorising these permissions.
Just keep an eye out next time you download an app don't just ACCEPT without checking first.Also run Lookout to check for any wrong doing then remove it if you don't want it on phone,,it certainly proved its worth in that instance.

Apple came out couple of years back saying they have been exaggerating their signal strength bars..How do you know Sony or HTC are no doing the same thing? Signal bars are so unreliable I don't even care as long as I get a signal..The only real concern for low signal is increased battery usage...Samsungs could be true reading and other companys inflating signal bars.Samsung could be underrating erring on side of caution and HTC and Sony are overestimating.
Unless I loose signal I don't care,never have done since 1998..

Hi guys. I am from Tawau, Sabah, Malaysia. You can condemned me if you want, i am being honest. Since my first S2,3,4, note1 and 2, there's seemed issues with samsung signal strength. Samsung really really need to improve their signal reception with their phones. I once owned HTC One, Sony Xperia Z, Z1, i can see signal strength differences when compared side by side to S4 using same network. Samsung have to learn from other manufacturers that manage to provide strong signal with their flagship phones. Issues arised at places where the signal is low but other phones performed much better in receiving signal. Now, i am using alcatel one touch idol X as my daily driver for the excellent signal reception and my S4 is just for playing games. High tech is useless if signal is poor, what do you say. Come on guys, let us all raise this issues to Samsung and push them to make a different. Let me hear others opinions. Bye..

And have u noticed that samsung plans to upgrade s4 version from 4.2.2 to 4.3 but sony has planned that upgrade z1 from 4.2.2 to directly 4.4 dat is kitkat....
