so, it's definitely NOT octa-core!
it's QUAD-core!
if you're about to buy this phone buy the I9505. it's 1.9ghz snapdragon 600 not exynos.

So basically there's two proccessors in the phone. For exmaple sake, lets call them A and B respectively. Proccessor A costs little power but cannot perform intensvie apps. Processor B costs more power but is able to perform intensive apps. How these two work together is that they save battery. When someone is merely texting, calling, or surfing the internet, proccessor A kicks in and proccessor B sleeps. This preserves battery life. Whne someone decides to play a game or run large apps like skype, Processor B kicks in to meet the needs of the user. Hope this helps!

Mac0x, 07 Apr 2013I dont understand the cpu of this phone come like quad core... moreThere are two variants of the Galaxy S4,this variant has an 8 core processor, made up by Quad-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A15 & quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7.The 1.2 GHz processor will handle low performance tasks, and its small size will save power, but when you will nedd more power, the data will be sent to the 1.7 GHz part, thus giving better performance, but using up more of your battery life.
