try to go and flash it or unlocked it, and dont upgrade it to 5.0 just leave it on 4.45 version it will be ok then

If no change then
Try SIM in other phone to see if it is working.
If working SIM then master reset phone.
If still not working then likely SIM slot or physical phone problem which needs repair.

You should be able to download 5.0.1 by going into the phone's settings and going to 'about' and 'check for updates'. Another way would be to go to the SamMobile firmware page and search 'Galaxy S4 I9505'. Choose the correct country and carrier and then follow the instructions to download to your computer and transfer to your phone using Odin software.
It is possible to install Marshmallow (6.0.1) or even Nougat (7.0) onto an I9505, but that would involve rooting your phone, which can be risky. My I9505 isn't my daily driver (my SM-G900F is), so I could afford to tinker with it. It now has an unofficial CyanogenMod Nougat ROM on it. I'm waiting for an official Lineage OS I9505 Nougat ROM to come out (if ever) and then I'll probably move on to that.

Bought the i9515 brand new. After only one year of moderate use it started giving me the "sim card removed,phone will restart" error. I have tried everything: bought a new sim/microsd tray, wedged pieces of paper over the connector, upgraded and downgraded the firmware,bought a new battery; nothing helped. Bought another i9505 main board (it.s a perfect fit on the i9515 btw), after a couple of weeks same issue! After many searches on the web the problem seems to be a bad connection on one of the chips on the main board. Very dissapointed with Samsung,having these issues on a past flagship that was 500 euros when it was launched. I will never again buy a phone that has Samsung written on it!!!

mik, 05 Jan 2017is marshmallow available for samsung s4 i9505Yes, but only via a custom ROM. I have TWRP and CM13 installed on mine (Android Marshmallow version 6.0.1). Samsung stopped at Lollipop 5.0.1, so the CyanogenMod ROM brings things more up to date. Unfortunately, CyanogenMod closed down last month, so I don't know what will happen regarding future updates to the I9505. May have to jump ship to Lineage OS.

Bought a new sim/micro ad card holder off eBay for £2.50 and watched on YouTube how to change it. Was pretty straight forward.Just be careful when changing SIM cards over.
