I did not backup on kies.. i dnt have heavy games and apps.. just a factory reset then download the update and installed asap..

Did you do a backup on Kies and then a factory reset before upgrading to 4.4.2 and then another factory reset after, or did you just go ahead and do the update. I have read elsewhere that you need to do a reset before and after.

I recommend to every s4 user that make your Hangout set as your default messenger that's why the emoji icon can available to use via text messaging.

I'm here in Asia and I received kitkat 4.4.2 via ota in the size of 402MB and now my phone very smooth and less lag application during execution.

Hello evryone, i have a GT-I9505 bought it 3 months ago with android 4.2 instantly as i had open the phone i have recived notification that a new software update is available so from first moment i have updated to 4.3 and the experience untill now its excelent. Now android 4.4.2 its available and the size is 362.07 MB (bought the phone from Germany and i use it in Romania) and i have read that the size can be up to 424.53 MB, my question is...Might i miss any files if i use Romanian update ? and why is it smaller and different then other countrys ?

Pros : Faster and smoother than jellybean
Cons : Battery drains a little faster :/

I have tried the kitkat update.. noticeable speed that kitkat brings.. keyboard is responsive due to the speed.. notifications in status bar turned to white color. The hide apps is changed to uninstall
/disable apps in the app drawer.. have problems with the stock file manager cannot detect files from within the device.. cannot assign ringtones and notifications.. never overcharge ur phone.. my charger heats up quickly.. super fast and fluid ui..

Is android kitkat 4.4.2 available already fo... morehi. s4 owner here as well, from the PH. after kitkat upgrade, my phone became so laggy and have a GPS connection issue that leads to battery drain and overheating. i did factory reset and will see if this would help.

ive got an awesome one and am happy with that very lovely fone awesome battery timing no over heating normally but a little bit on skype video calling. Just awesome. SAMSUNG is SAMSUNG the dad of all ;)

How is the kitkat update? Is battery optimized? Or consuming a lot of battery? Encountered any problems with the update? Is hiding apps on 4.4.2 gone? Others say its only a UI update.

I can't hear or when i talk no one on the other end can hear me. i don't know if anyone is having that issue as this is the 2nd time it has happened to me. I use ATT in the USA. I have already reset my phone turned off and on back. Please advise.

I'm impressed by this phone, even the screen brightness/white level is better that many high-end laptops.
Its just perfect.
