This phone lags in all games, literally all. Even lighter ones like subway surfers, vector, mini motor racing. It drops a couple of frames randomly every few seconds, its 60 but then drops to 57 or 53 and then immediately goes back up.
Heavier games like Vice City, San Andreas, NFS Most Wanted, Iron Man 3, Dead Trigger, Dead Trigger 2 lag and stutter like hell. Very annoying.
NFS MW gets from 25 to 35 fps, GTA VC goes over 30 but often even drops slightly below 20. GTA SA gets 30 max with it stuttering and dropping to around 20. Similar situation with other games as well.
Not only that it gets lower fps compared to other devices, but also randomly stutters and reduces it even more.
I've heard it's due to games' optimization, but I don't care. This phone doesn't offer smooth gaming at all. Period.
So I'd recommend this phone to those who don't play games at all, 0 games. Cause it seems ok for everything else, haven't found any other problems yet.

I bought my S4 one month ago, and I have to say that I prefer galaxy S3 that I used to have. Samsung's stock rom for galaxy S4 comes with many apps that's not possible to uninstall. Most part of these apps are just trial, and are useless apps. These apps cause many lags, making this phone slower than my old Galaxy S3. Sincerely, I'm thinking about buying Nexus 5. I don't recommend anyone to buy Galaxy S4. Samsung should release a clean android version, without these apps that just makes the phone slower and occupy storage. Furthermore, I can't instal Cyanogenmod, because if I do this, I'll loose the warranty of my device. Shame on you Samsung!

Only version available is 16GB, with OS ans Samsung software installed, it leaves you with merely 8GB of storage, SD card is a must..

They say s4 is ugly and laggy, you will never know unless you buy. One of the best today.

Unfortunately I had this phone bought from 2 days ago and the device after played 1h youtube clip just simply died...so disappointed..
I will receive a new one from warranty but I'm not sure if I want this one again

Whereas S4 has only 2GB RAM.. If you are looking for a normal day to day and do not prefer a much bigger screen then S4 is the best phone as I am using the Galaxy S4 in White Frost..

Yeah its really a difficult decision to make between note 3 and s4. On one side you have most powerful smartphone whereas on other side you have most powerful phablet.

But there is lot of difference between these two devices. Note series is always made one step ahead of s-series. So its obvious that note 3 is having some edge over s4.

Firstly, we go with hardware. Note 3 is having 3gb ram with Snapdragon 800 processor whereas s4 is having 2gb ram with snapdragon 600 processor. But you will not find any lag with any of these devices at all. Especially after 4.4 kitkat update things will become better because its requirement for hardware are less as compared to jelly-bean. So both of the devices are ridiculously fast.

Then we go to screen size. Galaxy s4 has 5" screen with 441 ppi whereas note 3 has 5.7" screen with 386 ppi. The screen of note 3 is big and you will enjoying watching movies and playing games but resolution of galaxy s4 is better because of its higher screen density. As i said in my earlier opinion that using a big screen in phone looks strange but after certain time you can't even think of using a phone with small screen.

Then i come to camera. Both devices are having 13 mega-pixel camera. But the things change with devices. The camera in note3 is better than s4. Even though the quality of image is nearly same but the camera of note 3 is capable of taking videos in 1080p in 60 fps whereas s4 takes videos in 1080p in 30fps.

Then it comes to stylus, the thing which makes you off. As i have used note series, i can tell you that if you are not using stylus in note 3, then it works same as galaxy s4 but with upgraded hardware. Most of the note users are not using stylus, they just bought it because of its performance and big screen. But stylus really do pretty good job, like you can make notes and write messages without typing slowly.

Then it comes to advantages of both devices over each other.

Advantages of galaxy s4:
1. Good size to fit in pockets.
2. Better screen resolution.
3. Lighter in weight
4. Cheaper
5. Can do everything that a person needs from a smartphone.

Advantages of note 3
1. Bigger screen to enjoy movies.
2. Better battery life
3. Better camera for shooting videos.
4. Best hardware used in a phone till now.
5. Can do special tasks with stylus.

Note:
May be stylus for you doesn't seem to be an advantage but for many people its an advantage and they really use it.

Both devices are very good devices and their performance is best. With further updates their performance will become better because samsung is also going to launch new ui, which will definitely be better than now and even with new android updates performance has always become better.

The main thing is your necessity, that what you want your device to do for you, but still these both devices are capable of doing everything you want.

And last thing i want you to say is don't listen to people. Go for the thing according to your requirements. Because if you spend extra for a thing that you don't even use, then that's a waste for money.

Dear guys, I have had this phone since June 2013. This is the best phone ever that I had. He is so smooth, the performance is awesome. The camera is great. Everything is working perfectly like the first day I bought.Honestly, the only thing that is true from all the bad things that I have read is that the phone gets warmer when you are playing some games or watching videos more than 30 minutes. But I understand that because that great and powerful chip set and CPU is normal to get warmer in that thin body. On the other hand, my wife has Iphone 5S and it is great phone too (everything is working perfectly) but S4 I9505 has more features and it makes the phone more interesting for exploring and having fun. Based on my opinion is question of choice and taste.

Also it is not true that if you drop S4 it is going to crack or damage so easily because it is made all from plastic. I had dropped it two times on the street from my pocket, the only damage is some small dots on the edge of the phone, almost non visible. Overall, everyone who likes Android and Samsung this is the right choice. I recommend it because I am so satisfied from my Samsung S4 I9505. BEST REGARDS TO EVERYONE. HAVE A NICE AND EASY LIFE. Hello i bought galaxy S4 last week and it is 4.2.2 out of the box, when i check update, it was the latest update, how do i update my device to 4.3? Im at Philippines

Hi,

im from the UK. My dad got a Samsung s4 today. It has android updated to 4.3 amd knox installed. I thought the phone would come with its original OS 4.2.2 and with no knox installed.

Those software are all spyware. Could I downgrade the software back to the older version and take knox off?

Or do I have to contact Samsung as I've heard that they are not helpful or supportive?

I heard you can reflash the software to take unwanted apps away, is it possible or would I be doing something illegal, which breaking the law or cauing infringement on Samsung products?

I dont want to get into trouble over a new phone.

Please help and give me advice. My dad like this phone, but its too late. Hes made a mistake.

Definitely 64 bit is a way better than 32 bit. Even in computers 64 bit is preferred than 32 bit, but here is a question that how many normal users know about their difference? They may know that 64 bit is better but how many actually know that why?

But again i just want to say that you are going for specs. Look for the performance. Even iphone is supporting their latest iphone 5c, so they have to make sure that this phone doesn't get outdated, which means every app for 64 bit will be available for 32 bit.

Now you talk about screen of iphone, the graphics are really amazing, i really like the cool fonts of iphone, but due to small size of screen i am now unable to use it properly, even i am getting problem with typing on screen where as typing in s4 screen seems as a sweet candy.

Graphics on both the phones are awesome, most of the normal users will not be able to say the difference, but honestly speaking during playing games espacially asphalt 7, graphics look more cooler on s4 due to its over-saturated screen, and the main thing you will notice that sometimes iphone screen doesnot work in gameplay for launching nos

Now for video formats first of all iphone users cant download videos from unknown website and cant directly paste videos in their phone from pc, every video they are putting in phone is by converting through i-tunes or downloading by you-tube downloader, but whereas in s4 you can download video from any website and it will play all formats.

Now for galaxy s4 19505.
I am also using the same model in NZ, because its the international model and i am using android 4.3 currently. After the update i haven't seen any lag in my phone, not even once and the graphics are awesome and you will enjoy the hd videos not only because of size but because of quality of screen as well. It supports all the high-definition games. I have played Asphalt 7 and 8, The dark knight rises, Wild blood without any lag. Galaxy s4 plays all types of videos without any software from play-store, which most of the other devices can't do.

iphones 5s
-they(Apple) put A7 chip with 64bit architecture so that iphone 5s can have OpenGL ES 3.0 to deliver the kind of detailed graphics and complex visual effects once possible only on Mac computers, PCs, and gaming consoles.(check their website for reference)
The graphics are pretty amazing.Small 4" Screen is good but not HD,326ppi density is not bad... good thing comes out of the box with OpenGL ES 3.0
Gaming is smooth but sometimes not nice cause of small screen. Can only play specific video formats and others have to be converted using itunes,it's heavily dependent on itunes.

S4 LTE (i9505 model)
-easily updated to Android 4.3 and above to enable OpenGL ES 3.0
The graphics are pretty amazing and the 5" Full HD screen is sharp & impressive. 441ppi density & Super Amoled Screen is wonderful.Gaming is nice & smooth,the phone plays all types of video formats in their original form,quite amazing.In multimedia stuff no other phone can compete with s4.

Galaxy S4 Vs IPhone 5s

Before the comparison i just want to tell that both phones are best at their prospective, both are having advantages over each other. I am telling from my own experience.

First of all if we begin with hardware, Iphone is made of aluminium and galaxy s4 is made of premium plastic. Hardware of both devices are having advantages over each other. How, lets look over it.

Feel of aluminium phone in hand is amazing and everybody admits this fact, but if in case it gets scratched you have to live with that scratch. In case of galaxy s4, back is made of plastic which doesn't feels premium but it gives you freedom to change back cover whenever you got it scratched, further you can change battery and you can insert memory card for expanding memory.

Now we go to internal hardware. Iphone 5s has preety much same hardware as galaxy s2 eg- 1gb ram, 1.3ghz processor, but its sufficient for it, because the operating system of apple is too good to work with this hardware and it works dam good. Now for s4 it is having best hardware that samsung can put in its flagship phone, and it works preety good even after heavy Touch wiz UI. Both phones works as good as butter and as top flagship should work.

Now i begin with software side. Iphone runs with ios and samsung runs with android. Iphone has done hard work with its software which works very well but putted restrictions in its software side like you cant download music or videos from any website, You cant do anything with your iphone without itunes but its good for the security purposes.In case of samsung you can do anything as you want. Even if you dont like user interference, you can install any other, it gives you full freedom.

Now i will come towards special features. In iphone 5s the coolest feature is fingerprint unlock which works perfectly, but apple gave you choice of passcode with it, so you can use any option at a same time, which brings whole thing at same place. The unique feature of iphone 5s is 64 bit graphics, but the thing is there are very few apps working with 64 bit graphics and most of the users doesn't need it beacuse at last same app will be available in 32 bit graphics as well. Now special features for Galaxy s4, the most useful feature of s4 is multitasking in which the screen of phone split in 2 parts to do separate work at same time. Further unique feature is group play in which 2,3,4,5..... as many s4 wants to combine together, they can combine and play same music at same time as one device. Then there are further features like air-view, smart pause, smart-scroll which a common user doesn't use.

Some of the people are looking for specs, but i tell you in real life specs doesn't work. Most of the iphone users doesn't even know what specs is and they don't even care about it. The best way to judge phone is based on its functionality and i assure you that both phones works as butter and none of the phones will show you lag or problems until you start using your phone recklessly.

NOTE
I have tried both the phones and none of the phone is creating problem, but my personal choice is galaxy s4 and the reason is big screen. Firstly, when you begin with a phone which is having big screen it seems strange but it gives you amazing feeling and joy of big screen and after some time its impossible to use phone with small screen. Now when i use the iphone 5s which is almost as big as just the screen of galaxy s4, it seems impossible to use that phone. Even though iphone 5s is made of premium aluminium and feels solid in hand but still it seems as a kids phone after using a big screen phone.

At last I want to say both phones are high end phones, if you are having one of these two phones, you should be proud for owning your phone instead of being jealous of your friend's phone, because you decided to buy that phone for you as related to your needs and don't forget your phone is special because you are special.

Don't compare yourself with anybody because by doing that you are insulting youself

I've been using Samsung I9505 Galaxy S4 from past 5 months. No problems. The phone is perfect and meets all my requirements. Initially I had an issue with battery drain, but with few settings and installing "Battery Doctor" app in my device, battery lasts for more than 18 hours. Previously I was using iPhone 5 and comparatively this phone is much faster and great battery performance.
