For all those who are looking for ICS or Jelly bean,there are no official updates above 2.3.
However, there are custom ROMS avaialble like Cyanogenmod,AOKP.
Google them for further help

Lucky me, I have bought a tab second hand but looks like brand new, it has cyanogenmod 9 onto it, where in I do have a ICS OS
Hope to have a JellyBean OS soon but I don't know how to install it. Hope I can install it myself..

Are you sure ICS works with P1000 model??
If so plz give me the link how to upgrade my P1000 to ICS, I'm currently using gingerbread.

This is a great 7inch smartphone. Aside from the fact it started the craze, it's a well-rounded tablet pc smartphone in its own right. The processor can handle ICS4.0.4 with ease, contrary to earlier beliefs. Now even Jellybean firmware is being specifically made for it, proving that this will cope up with the latest versions. I have no regrets in purchasing this model. Thanks Samsung!

the galaxy tab p1000 is so not good as it looks, my mom bought a galaxy tab and it always hang up and jammed up it so slow and not very responsive, we shouldnt buy it cuz our money will not be good for it. it so bad
