I just bought this tablet. I currently have an ipad3, and a Galaxy S3. This 7.7 inch table completes my needs. It is light, fast and the display is excellent. While the ipad3 is a little too heavy to carry if you are on the go, the Galaxy 7.7 is perfect for "on the go". I highly recommend this item. And I jut upgraded it to ICS which is an excellent OS.

Drakula, 21 Aug 2012Which is best to buy (Overall)? Galaxy S2 or Galaxy Tab 7.7?Drakula oh im afraid lol hehehe for me i'd rather choose galaxy tab 7.7 than s2 not because I owned one but spec wise. Gtab has 1.4 exynos processor compared to 1.2 only of s2. The display in gtab is super amoled plus HD, while s2 same with super amoled plus only low resolution. There's a big difference in screen display. Sad to say the camera is not as good as s2. Both are good devices but do more research and decide in the end which one suit your needs or wants in an android device. Btw both are way better than ipad and iphone. Trust me.

Hello guys..im from malaysia,i wonder how u guys update to ics,i need update my 7.7 to ics..i try my friend tab 2 7.0 ics n its run smoothly..i need to put in my 7.7 too...i try update via device updte n it say no update..using kies or odin seem hard for me..any1 hav suggestion..

But not possible as its demand & coverage is not as big as asian mea or ecc. Still we should wait, what is sammy doing its engineers dating , it should be sistematic.within days just to give excess. Maybe same hacker has uploaded the Rom. Its two late for its utility otherwise its another nail n sammmys back.

I hope everyone can read this and yes I have successfully updated my tablet using the official updates through OTA. If you still havent received any updates, you just have to wait. Its worth waiting the official updates than doing it manually.

hey guys, so i wanna buy a tab, im looking at this one, i'm interested in the nexus 7 and i like the toshiba one(7.7), although im not sure if their gonna come to my country anytime soon, can i get some advise, possibly from someone who has this one now and is using it(or the 7" one with the dual-core), im in the range of the 7+" ones i dont want anything bigger, and im pretty sure that games are gonna be my main concern..., thanks :)

just flashed the ICS stock rom from Australia today using Odin and every thing was good until the WIFI problem came so i decided to go back to honey comb so i flashed a honey comb stock rom and then i got the boot loop and i had to wipe all my data to get the phone Running simply that wasn’t the brightest day in my life

han, 04 Aug 2012this galaxy tab can enter sim card?? Yes this tab can use Simcard. It can make calls also. Thats the beauty of this tab. Offcourse you have to use bluetooth or the headset/mic given to make call. Or else it will be weird with the big size tab sticking on your ear. Cheers...

To answer your query, I have my ICS update through OTA. I am surprised as well as many user out there do the update either manually or through ODIN. No KIES nor rooted. It is just as simple update through "About Devie" and then select "Software Update". The update file is about 226Mb (I think). The whole process takes about 30 mins approx. After automatic reset, I have ICS. Simple as that.
Below are the infos of my ICS on my 7.7 tab:
Android Version: 4.0.4
Baseband Version: P6800XXLPW
Kernel Version: 3.0.15-P6800ZSLP7-CLP910862
I bought this from my local shop in Brunei (south east asia region) and I think the shop gets it from Hongkong. It has Samsung.HK.com on the box. There are many horror stories with regards doing the updates manually and I suggest just wait for the official updates. My ICS update is done using my wifi at home so my point is as long as you are connected to the internet, any latest update will be highlighted to you.
Then again some tab may not have the update and yes it depends on region. To be sure of what region your tab comes from, go to Samsung support and note down your tab serial number. The support team should be able to tell you where the tab comes from ie european or asian market.
Hope you get the updates soon. It is throughly worth it.
