There it goes again... the same old thing posted again n again n again.... I must admit your relentless compassion for your phone... Ok i'm jealous because my phone has 3 speakers, a jumbo battery, dolby mobile 2.0, a 3.5mm jack, a superb 2mp camera, hours and hours of nonstop quality music and also because of the fact that i get free GPRS on my @#$%%# up phone...
Ohhhh my.. I must be real jealous of you guys...

    1. Buy d phn frm a trustd brand. (nokia, motorola, samsung, se, lg, etc r all gud.)
    2. Check if its under ur target budget(since u cn spnd upto rs.5500, nokia 5130 xm, 2700c, 7210 suprnova, s3500, se w205 are gud options. SE W205 and s3500 are slider phones).
    3. For gud battery backup and music, u cn go for either 5130xprsmusc, se w205 or 2700c)
    4. For a stylish, heavy, metallic finshd, wid loads of features+security, nd big display, go for s3500.
    5. For userfrndly, nd easy of use phn, i advise u go for nokia phones.
    S3500 has loads of features though, its ur wish. I had similar problems, in choosing d bst phones..! I've used samsung, nokia, and motorola phones, nd i'm most cmfortable wid nokia (symbian os) phones.., d brand which has also been awarded as 'The most trusted brand in India, 09'. Now, The choice is urs. GUD LUCK.

      first thing first s3500 is a piece of beauty
      while gm200 is really ugly

      now talk bout specs:
      s3500 vs gm200
      2.2 inch screen Vs 2 inch screen
      even a simple person who doesnt knw anythin much bout specs will crave for a big screen. yup everyone loves big screen.

      16m(1 crore 60 lakh colours) vs 256k (256 thousand colours)
      its a huge diffrence s3500 have 62 TIMES more colours so ur pics n videos look more colourfull n lively

      240*320 screen resolution vs poor 176*220
      screen resolution is poor in comparision to s3500

      internal 45mb mem vs 14mb mem
      wow 14 mb wat a joke...lol

      although s3500 is a slide phone even though it has a sleek design n look -14.3 mm thickness whereas gm200 is bar phone but thickness is 14.4 mm...lol

      cam not at all comperable(u knw this)
      poor QCIF video recording with poor 176*144 resolution
      whereas s3500 has QVGA(much superior to qcif) video recording with great 320*240 resolution.

      by the way mr faker have u remember ur question????
      ur question was: One doubt... does it support .mp4 AVC (h.264) video format?
      n my answer was: yup man it plays mp4 h.264 & h.263 @ 25/30 fps
      moreover for ur kind information it not only plays but record QVGA video in MPEG4 and H.263 formats.
      no other fone at its price can do that...lol

      n most of all the thing that makes s3500 a sureshot winner is its unique n marvllous features...

      Multiple Alarm: There are five alarm slots available on the Samsung S3500 and additional ones can be created if needed. Each of them can have its own snooze time, number of repetitions and activation days. The volume can also be different for each alarm. Furthermore, you can set different tones for each of the alarms and you can choose whether it should trigger phone vibration.

      Calendars - Calendar Function is awesome in this phone. It have all Indian Holidays marked. If there is a public holiday (date) it will show a icon below and when u click button, it will show you which holiday it is.

      "theme creator"
      through theme creator u can create n customize ur own theme according to ur choice of colours n ur choice of pics... its really a awesome feature for those who loves customization.... (to knw more bout it pls read earlier comments)

      PRIVACY LOCK: Locking function is also very good where you can lock ur Messages, call log, phonebook, ur files (pics, videos, games etc), calender, memo, task etc...watever u want. really a unique function...

      BLOCK Calls n Sms's: u can block calls as well as sms.

      "Flight mode"

      "USB charging"

      "bluetooth security"
      when u connect other phones through bluetooth it ask for a passcode....it really enhance ur phone secutity bcoz of this ur phone can not be hack through any hacking tool.

      another awesome feature is when you connect through Bluetooth to any other device you can take a control of that phone as all files and folders of other connected phone are displayed on S3500. You can take whichever files you want without bothering other person.

      "Fm recording" n the best part is the audio quality of recorded clip is shockingly loud n crystal clear n can save unlimited no. of stations.

      "call recording"
      crystal clear call recording n the other person on call will not hear any annoying beep.

      "Fake Call function" this feature enables you to activate a bogus incoming call, so you can free yourself from awkward conversations or dodgy situations by pretending to take a call. For added authenticity, you can record your own or ur friends fake voice "call" that plays back when you answer.

      "Menu transition effect"
      if u seen latest aamir khan's samsung ad then u wud probably knw wat i m talking bout...wenever u press a button the screen slides from right to left....it looka awesome...u can also change ur transition effect.

      "MOBILE TRACKER 2.0"
      Mobile tracker automatically sends an SMS message to a pre-designated number alerting you when your phone’s SIM card is changed, increasing your chances of recovering a lost or stolen mobile phone.

      "SOS FUNCTION"
      in an emergency jus press either end of the volume key 4 times when the phone is closed. this will send the SOS message to ur selected recipients. if they call u back their call will be automatically connected. its definately a life saving feature.

      "Message alert repetition": it will alert u in evry 2 min if there is an unread mes on ur phone....u can put it off too.

      "keypad lights" automatically set according to day night usage or according to ur custom usage dont have to on or off it manually.

      have all the features which only a music phone possess....n music player is shockingly loud n clear.

      "Random Wallpaper Effect"
      very intresting feature...wenever u use ur mobile n came back to standby....it will welcome u with diffrent wallpapers of ur choice each time.(to know more read earlier reviews)

      "BLUETOOTH MESSAGING"
      (chat/sms through bluetooth FREE OF COST)
      1st of all its free secondly its in chat form u can see the history n third u dont have to wait for send or receive as it does chatting instantly....


      "smart dialling"

      "SMS ZOOM Function"

      cam cover: cam is not at the back of fone....it is inbetween the slide so slide act as a cam cover...protect lens from scratches, dust n all.

      can change DEFAULT MEMORY setting: u can change default memory settings of bluetooth, wap downloads, camera, camcorder, voice recorder, fm radio etc from phone mem to memory card.
      for ex: now when u transfer any file through bluetooth or click a pic, or record a radio clip they'll b directly stored in ur mem card.

      Awesome file management:
      The functionality of the file browser is one of the best among non-smartphones. You can copy or move files - both one by one or in bulk, and you can create and delete new folders (save for the basic ones). Files can also be sent via Bluetooth one by one or multiple at once. Throughout the whole file manager, you can pick files you would like to lock to prevent accidental deletion. The whole file navigation thingy is really quick with no lags whatsoever.

      apart from these there are a lot more features like "AUTO REPLY" , "night mode"....the list is endless.....we r still exploring.....

        havnt u read its awesome specs n unique features which u cant even dream of....lol
        it seems this unlucky soul never got a chance it see a 16m colour fone coz if he cud he will definately knw that there is a hell lot of diffrence. 16m have 62 times more colour. 62 times!!!!!!!!!!!

          n s3500 music quality is much supirior....try it urself.

Datz a big diffrnce btwn d two..! And nokia 2700c have a 3.5mm audio jack, whereas s3500 does nt..! If u could purchase it by rs.50 (as you've said), y dnt u just do it?? The other features of s3500 are not bad, evry1 knws dat. But i'm sure, nokia 2700c wins in terms of battery backup, sound (quality not qnty), price, user friendliness n easy-of-use.

                          Sumeet, 28 Oct 2009What use are all these great features if this so called sup... morehey man wat r u talkin bout i hav this phone for approx 5 months n mine look like brand new...no prob at all. in fact i have used nokia, se, moto, lg but i find samsung the best. i dont knw wats ur prob may b u dont handle it correctly....lol
                          if u have some prob dont blame all the phones or company for it. go n check other fones forum u will find in every forum there must b some unlucky souls like u. n we even dont knw if u r fake or genuine.

                            Hitman, 28 Oct 2009I made my mind to get this mobile but now i am seeing more ... morePros: Bigger display, richer colours, good looks, 8GB expandable memory, surprisingly loud speaker (mono).

                            Cons: Poor battery backup (850mah battery), no 3.5mm jack, body gets scratched easily even with blush metallic finish (body is actually plastic), no inbuilt picture edit tools (wallpapers have to be edited in PC and then transferred to memory card), tedious user interface for first time users.

                            Just an ordinary phone with a big display and nothing else to blab about.

                              I made my mind to get this mobile but now i am seeing more negative comments popping up. Can anyone here using this phone with good enough experience on this can list out the Pros and Cons(every single one) so that it can guide people to make a decision on this phone.

                                I completely agree with u Nevin Joseph S3500 is a Neutral phone.Like 5130 with music specialty, GM200 Dolby 2.1 , S300 has good Display. It doesn't specialize in any thing all it's feature are normal Satisfactory.

It's got everything i guess for a good phone with loads of features but still it is not as appealing. 5130 has got the best audio quality, GM200 has got the best battery back up and superb speakers but for S3500, though it's got a bigger display and better looks, it doesn't have anything solid to stress upon. It's just an average phone with a bigger display. And the metallic finishing is just a fancy mock up. It is still plastic and the underside gets scratched quite easily. Nokia and LG on the other hand has got so much to offer. The lack of a bigger display is compensated well in terms of audio quality and a user friendly interface. For mobile displays, 16bit(262K) and 32bit (16M) colour displays doesn't make much of a difference. 2.2 inch display suits a smart phone well but for this phone with it's minimal content support, I don't think it is a necessity unless there was a document viewer or a fully fledged web browser. Given the choice of a bigger display and battery backup, I would definitely go for the battery part. I know that most of have the same thoughts as me...
