One basic query,
If I have to call up a person from the Phone book by name, the default number showing up will be his mobile number. But if I want to call up hi home number is there is any short cuts, other than opening the contact, scrolling down to home number and calling it ?
(Basically any way to avoid opening the contact and scrolling to the home/other phone entry)

eg. Like SE phone, the joy stick takes you through the different numbers for the same person.

    at 5.3k u'll get:

    u dont find these fetures in any other phone at its price or even if u pay rs2000 or 2500 more....(check urself)

    apart form its awesome specs.....
    other great features of s3500 are:

    Multiple Alarm: There are five alarm slots available on the Samsung S3500 and additional ones can be created if needed. Each of them can have its own snooze time, number of repetitions and activation days. The volume can also be different for each alarm. Furthermore, you can set different tones for each of the alarms and you can choose whether it should trigger phone vibration.

    Calendars - Calendar Function is awesome in this phone. It have all Indian Holidays marked. If there is a public holiday (date) it will show a icon below and when u click button, it will show you which holiday it is.

    PRIVACY LOCK: Locking function is also very good where you can lock ur Messages, call log, phonebook, ur files (pics, videos, games etc), calender, memo, task etc...watever u want. really a unique function...

    BLOCK Calls n Sms's: u can block calls as well as sms.

    "Flight mode"

    "USB charging"

    "bluetooth security"
    when u connect other phones through bluetooth it ask for a passcode....it really enhance ur phone secutity bcoz of this ur phone can not be hack through any hacking tool.

    another awesome feature is when you connect through Bluetooth to any other device you can take a control of that phone as all files and folders of other connected phone are displayed on S3500. You can take whichever files you want without bothering other person.

    "Fm recording" n the best part is the audio quality of recorded clip is shockingly loud n crystal clear n can save unlimited no. of stations.

    "call recording"
    crystal clear call recording n the other person on call will not hear any annoying beep.

    "Fake Call function" this feature enables you to activate a bogus incoming call, so you can free yourself from awkward conversations or dodgy situations by pretending to take a call. For added authenticity, you can record your own or ur friends fake voice "call" that plays back when you answer.

    Menu transition effect
    if u seen latest aamir khan's samsung ad then u wud probably knw wat i m talking bout...wenever u press a button the screen slides from right to left....it looka awesome...u can also change ur transition effect.

    "MOBILE TRACKER 2.0"
    Mobile tracker automatically sends an SMS message to a pre-designated number alerting you when your phone’s SIM card is changed, increasing your chances of recovering a lost or stolen mobile phone.

    "SOS FUNCTION"
    in an emergency jus press either end of the volume key 4 times when the phone is closed. this will send the SOS message to ur selected recipients. if they call u back their call will be automatically connected. its definately a life saving feature.

    Message alert repetition: it will alert u in evry 2 min if there is an unread mes on ur phone....u can put it off too.

    keypad lights automatically set according to day night usage or according to ur custom usage dont have to on or off it manually.

    have all the features which only a music phone possess....n music player is shockingly loud n clear.

    "Random Wallpaper Effect"
    very intresting feature...wenever u use ur mobile n came back to standby....it will welcome u with diffrent wallpapers of ur choice each time.(to know more read earlier reviews)

    "smart dialling"

    "SMS ZOOM Function"

    cam cover: cam is not at the back of fone....it is inbetween the slide so slide act as a cam cover...protect lens from scratches, dust n all.

    can change DEFAULT MEMORY setting: u can change default memory settings of bluetooth, wap downloads, camera, camcorder, voice recorder, fm radio etc from phone mem to memory card.
    for ex: now when u transfer any file through bluetooth or click a pic, or record a radio clip they'll b directly stored in ur mem card.

    Awesome file management:
    The functionality of the file browser is one of the best among non-smartphones. You can copy or move files - both one by one or in bulk, and you can create and delete new folders (save for the basic ones). Files can also be sent via Bluetooth one by one or multiple at once. Throughout the whole file manager, you can pick files you would like to lock to prevent accidental deletion. The whole file navigation thingy is really quick with no lags whatsoever.

    apart from these there are a lot more features like "THEME CREATOR" or BLUETOOTH MESSAGING (chat/sms through bluetooth free of cost) ....the list is endless.....we r still exploring.....

    s3500 is a "ALLROUNDER" phone

        1. sound quality of headphones is gud, although sound quality of its loudspeaker is jus awesome... shockingly loud n clear.
        2. photos look good on both phone as well as pc...
        cam is excellent...(best 2mp cam).
        3. bettery backup is satisfactory + u got usb charging....
        4. no, but u dont need em in the first place coz this phone has a marvellous "THEME CREATOR" through which u can create n customize ur own theme according to ur choice of colours n ur choice of pics... its really a awesome feature for those who loves customization.... (to knw more bout it pls read earlier comments)

              i took this phone in june 2009....within a month my phone was increasing the beauty of service centre...nd i m still in tears.my phone is suffering with all ailments..auto switch off+keypads r not working...do u wanna know more then try this.

                  1) S3500 is not described as a MUSIC phone, but possess all the facilities a music phone have(nice inbuilt music player, loud sound with crystal clear)
                  When come to headphone, it has equalizer and with proper bass makes you feel the pleasure of music!!!

                  2)The Phone screen display quality is undoubtedly AWESOME because it have 1crore 60 lac Colour combination!!!

                  3)The battery backup is satisfactory!! It gives me about 3 to 3.5 days, still i hear 2hrs of music, watch some minutes of videos and moderate phone use each day!!!!!!

                  4)Samsung mobiles does not allow third party themes...
                  But is s3500 it have wonderful THEME CREATOR!!!
                  You can edit each and every thing according to your taste!!!!

                  5)S3500 allows all third party softwares... Not only Opera mini you can install all third part softwares and games with the resolution of 320 x 240!!!

                          1. Does this phone have a separate speaker for playing music, other than the one for making calls.
                          2. Is it possible to create folders in memory card , for example Hindi songs in one folder and English in other, and Friends photos in one and family photos in another.

                            they r service tone...
                            u can do 2 things first if u really dont like the sound check ur balance through call or sms dont use those service keys star or hash...
                            or here's a easy way jus before chekin ur balance press n hold hash(#) key for a sec ur profile changed to silent check ur balance n again press n hold hash key n its again changed to ur preset profile... as simple as that...
                            not a big deal

                              bro many phones even do not have call recorder in the first place n wen they have the bad part is other person is going to hear a annoying beep every 2 sec(nokia). thank gosh u dont have those beeps in s3500....
                              and in every other phone u have to press a couple of keys n that too is audible wats the diffrence if u press 3 times or 6... everybody knws the trick may b u dont knw it....so here it is, if someone enqiure u about those key pressess tell em u got a imp. sms n u r jus chekin it as simple as that....lol
                              be +ve....hehehe

                                bro first of all the video converter of samsung pc suite doesnt convert only 30 min video as i hav converted whole 3 hrs movies through it so it does convert the whole video irrespective of its size...secondly do some googling bro there are hell lot of free video converter out there jus install anyone of em or try xilisoft video converter.

In other phones you get right inside the options to record the conversation. Moreover dont try this anonymously because the person is able to hear your key presses.
