You cant set a wallpaper,ringtones directly. Instead you have to copy that to your Phone memory....
This facility is for when you removed your memory card, there is no change in the themes, ringtones and images which you set.....
In other mobiles, when you set a wallpaper, themes and ringtones in the memory card, then when you remove your memory card, the settings will be come default.... Then you want to set the original settings once again..... time consuming....

hey it is a sliding phone ya... slide your phone(closed) and when the backlight is off the phone is automatically lock the keypad... if you want to access the phone without sliding means, then hold any one of the button(Volume up or down, softkeys)..
Then the phone will ask, "To unlock press OK"
But you cant lock your keypad when the slide is open...SO keep your phone in slide(closed) when you are not using...
In other mobiles of this range, when you press a key it will show the message for confirmation "Press Ok to unlock", but in samsung s3500 you to hold the key for 3 seconds to unlock the phone or if you want to save that 3 seconds just slide up the phone....
what is it mean, it the Keypad lock ya....
Dont say there is no key pad option.. do it and reply to me...
Another thing, you cant find the speaker outside because it is inside the slide.... So only it ask to slide the phone during the call, when you enable speaker.... It also ask a question"Do you want to enable the speaker?"
This also a type of confirmation, because if you pressed speaker on button without this question your call transaction will be heard for all....
So only it is asking, "do you want to enable speaker"
Ya accept that you cant browse your memory card files when the music player is runing.....
I gave a idea to that, just download a Music player application (i'm also using this method) and play hear your music through that player and minimize the application, now you can browse your memory card files...
Use third party software music player for this purpose

I didn't copied any photos from sony mobiles, but i have copied from nokia mobiles ,they are working...
So i take your question to my mind and explore for the answer....
Ya it's need driver and PC suite to browse the files in the Phone memory card, but you didnot need driver or Pc suite for browsing your memory card i think there is a problem in your system.....
Eventhough the driver and Pc suite Cd and Data cable is come along with the pack when you purchase the mobile.... You need not buy that separately..... But in Nokia mobiles they only give MOBILE, CHARGER, HEADSET(may or may not) and user guide...
If you didn't the driver CD along with the pack, then you can complain that without driver CD i cant browse the memory card files... but it comes along with the pack... What's you problem, i cant even understand????

I have explored the phone very well.. Tell me the answers to the below questions and whether you guys have done this on this phone.
1) Have you browsed images stored on memory card with next button instead of going back to list view ? Is there a slide show ? All of us store images only on memory card and not in phone memory and we would like to browse images easily.
2) Have you copied jpeg images clicked on some other camera like sony cybershot and try to access them on this phone. Unless you copy that image through PC studio to the phone you cannot see that image.
3) Can you configure wallpaper, ringtone, a photo to a contact in phone with the actual file being in the memory card. The file is first copied to phone memory before you can configure them.
4) Can you access photos in the memory card while the music player is playing music ? May be its not a smart phone but this can be done in SE w200i which is 4k.
5) You cannot lock the keys on the phone when the phone is closed. I am not talking about phone locking code. Just keypad lock. The phone will be locked automatically and it can be unlocked only after long press of a button. Remember I am trying to use the phone only with the slider closed because I dont need to open it unless I need keypad.
6) Have you enabled speakerphone during the call. It mandates to open the slider.
7) Mr BOSS. You were wrong in saying one thing. The phone doesnt connect directly to a PC. It needs the driver to be installed. Without driver installation, the memory card doesnt show up as a driver. I have tried it on Windows XP and Vista. It happenned in both cases.
I have many other things to list down. I could be wrong in my above analysis. The above are something very basic that we assume that they will work. We dont ask these questions prior to buying a phone. I will be very glad to hear solutions from you if you have solve them. After all if they are solved all of us will be happy.

have u tried those games i posted earlier???
u knw buddy many times the jar files u download is already corrupted n have errors.....read reviews first(if u r downloading from mobile9.com) before installing....there are several games even smaller than 300kb which cant b installed in other companies fones as well(due to some error i guess)
read the reviews....n u'll get to know there are problem in many games (thats why everybody call them third party CRAP)
n first try those games which i hav posted.

I have purchased s3500 metro few days back. As from previous posts i have downloaded few jar files then by jad maker made jad files. placed both of them in phones other files folder by PC suite. installer promt comes i said install games and even installing prompt appears on phone then phone restarts after few seconds and i didnt find game in my games folder.....
Please help me out:(

sometime it restarts even while sendin a sms....haha...lol
u havnt use any other phone n jus living in illusions...

For Rs.5500, say a phone which give all fantastic features which you cant get even when you spent 9000 in NOKIA, SE......

Dont say that as a drawback(which you said in your earlier comment), it's your mistake because you not at all explored your phone well....

who says u image cant be seen in full screen u can see pics in full screen jus press volume key. n if u want to see ur pics in slide show....follow this...
menu - settings - display n light - my theme - option then create n then jus press the middle key....now jus click next...
hehe.....bro do u know wat multitasking is.....n by the way wat r u expecting when they say "multitasking" a core 2 duo processer...lol...
BRO u can sent sms's while listening to ur music player u can play games while listening to radio or ur playlist.....n the speed is awesome....
these r the example of multitaskig in phones....n s3500 is absolutely perfect for this...
again u r writing jus ur ign0rance there is no problem at all...mem card usage is very userfriendly.

The multitasking feature is good..... that i mean is when a song is played, the speed of the mobile remains the same and s3500 allows you to sent sms,while you are hearing music... where as in other mobiles of this range, when a song is played and mobile will slow down and even hangs up....
Every mobile has both advantages and disadavantages....
But in s3500 the advantages is more when compared to disadvantages....
DOnt say that it has lots of disadvantages....
It means you never used s3500...
It has many more awesome features, where you cant find in other mobiles of this range... but i dont know why you guys are sill sticking on the silly things....

You say that,"You will find a lot of problems when various applications access memory card",
i means you didn't know that much about this phone...
S3500 does not allow any application from Memory card, you have to install it to the phone memory(45 MB)
THe reason for this feature is:
if you remove your memory card, the apps can be accessed by the phone with out MC...
I also accept that battery backup is limited to 2 to 3 days.... but how do you expect that with 2.2" display and 16M colour combination which you cant even think about in NOKIA, SE models of this price range....
S3500 Have USB charging(awesome feature, i used to connect by mobile when i'm working in my LAPTOP,
Eventhoug it is connected to your PC, you can call, sent a sms and can do every thing').
but you cant browse you memory card when you connect your mobile with PC...
can you say any nokia, SE mobile with these feature that i mentioned in the earlier message at this price range........
you are saying that "i'm just exaggerating the mobile, then please answer this simple question"
Tell me a mobile(NOKIA or SE) with this features at this price range of Rs.5500.....
2MP camera + 320 x 240 video recording QVGA + 2.2" display + 16 M colors + Mobile tracker + Mettalic Finish + Bluetooth(facility of browsing other phones files without bothering them) + Fake call management + security even to messages, call log, phone book, memory card + Flight Mode + SOS function.....etc, etc.
Please give me a straight answer, I bet you cant....
I'm a user of s3500, and other users of this family know that all features that i have mentioned is 100% true....
Once again dont stick on those, get a life dude....

Guys,
Stop exaggegerating the features. There are many drawbacks in this phone. Mr Boss and one of the anonymous.. please start giving what are the drawbacks. let the users take informed decision rather than knowing only about good things.
Drawbacks
1) The image viewer with the phone is bad compared to other phones. Doesnt show full screen and cannot browse with next button for the images in memory card.
2) Mr Boss.. dont say multitasking is good. I have sent this to samsung people and they explained that if the processor is busy with an application accessing hardware then the other application cannot access it. I hope that answers the multitasking functionality. The phone is good in single tasking only.
3) The memory card is not properly integrated with the software. You will find a lot of problems when various applications access memory card. There are many if I list down.
Please stop boosting about this phone. Let people take informed decision.

2.2 inch display(That you never see in nokia phone of this range, even if you spend two or three thousands extra)
Security management(can lock your sms,calender,call log, memory card, files, events, memo, task,etc...
sliding model with mettalic finish....
USB charging.....
FM with radio data system....
No limit for FM stations...
Expandable memory upto 8GB(cant think of it in NOKIA PHONES-only upto 2GB)....
Great speed even with 8GB memory card....
Does not Hang even with 8GB....

Multiple Alarm Setting. One can set multiple alarms.
u can set 5 diffrent alarm at once.
Calendars - Dont know if anyone have checked the Calendar Function in this phone. It have all Indian Holidays marked. If there is a public holiday (date) it will show a icon below and when u click button, it will show you which holiday it is.
privacy lock: Locking function is also very good where you can lock ur Messages, call log, phonebook, ur files (pics, videos, games etc), calender, memo, task etc...watever u want.
"Flight mode"
"bluetooth security"
when u connect other phones through bluetooth it ask for a passcode....it really enhance ur phone secutity bcoz of this ur phone can not be hack through any hacking tool.
another awesome feature is when you connect through Bluetooth to any other device you can take a control of that phone as all files and folders of other connected phone are displayed on S3500. You can take whichever files you want without bothering other person.
"Fm recording" n the best part is the audio quality of recorded clip is shockingly loud n crystal clear n can save unlimited no. of stations.
"Fake Call function" this feature enables you to activate a bogus incoming call, so you can free yourself from awkward conversations or dodgy situations by pretending to take a call. For added authenticity, you can record your own or ur friends fake voice "call" that plays back when you answer.
Menu transition effect
if u seen latest aamir khan's samsung ad then u wud probably knw wat i m talking bout...wenever u press a button the screen slides from right to left....it looka awesome...u can also change ur transition effect.

Mobile tracker automatically sends an SMS message to a pre-designated number alerting you when your phone’s SIM card is changed, increasing your chances of recovering a lost or stolen mobile phone.
"SOS FUNCTION"
in an emergency jus press either end of the volume key 4 times when the phone is closed. this will send the SOS message to ur selected recipients. if they call u back their call will be automatically connected. its definately a life saving feature.
Message alert repetition: it will alert u in evry 2 min if there is an unread mes on ur phone....u can put it off too.
apart from these there are a lot more features like THEME CREATOR or BLUETOOTH MESSAGING, ZOOm messages....the list is endless.....
