ryas, 29 Aug 2009can i buy this mobile or not.. wat about talk timebuddy
read earlier comments n u'll find s3500 is the BEST phone at its price range...we have already compared it with other phones jus read earlier reviews.
n to help u further i m just copy pasting an earlier review...

"picture quality....buddy the picture quality is awesome as u wud know it has 2.2 inch high resolution screen with 1 crore 60 lakh colours (62 times more than 256k colours).....ur pics n videos will be really colourfull n lively.

video recoring: as i hav already mention it supports QVGA video recording with 320*240 resolution....u dont find these features in same price range phone...most of em support QCIF video rec. which is very inferior in comparision to QVGA n that to with much poor resolution.
so video recording is awesome.... i remember wen i show its recorded video to my friends they jus cant beleive it is recorded by 2mp cam.

sound quality is shockingly loud n clear....
n u'll find all the features which only a music phone possess in s3500.
so all in all great phone...."ALLROUNDER"

u cant find a single phone having 2.2 inch screen + 1 crore 60 lakh colours + 320*240 video recording resolution + 2mp camera + QVGA recording + premuim brushed mettalic body at only Rs 5500

u knw buddy u dont get these features even if u shell out rs 3000 to 4000 more....

n battery backup is satisfactory...if u use it moderately it gives backup for 2.5 to 3 days.

            If you copy external JPG files to the phone, the phone is not displaying those photos. What is the workaround to this problem ?

              NO man there is nothing half or full what i write is absolutely true....n u knw this...u are jus adding unnecessary point...
              what it(5130) cant do it cant do....as simple as that....get real buddy
              why r u adding that its a hindrance n all, i havnt write this...n man read again u are talking bout maximum of the data n i gave example of only 10 mb(do u find it maximum)....lol
              i m not saying it means u cant send any files to 5130 through bluetooth...wat i said is as there is no option in nokia 5130 where u can change the default setting of bluetooth(transfer) from phone memory to memory card (here i jus give u the example) so if u hav 20 mb free space in ur 5130 phone memory u cant transfer a 10 mb file directly to ur mem card through bluetooth. u cant do it even if u want to do so...but u can do it in s3500. thats my point... :)
              n u r writing like somebody is saying its a hindrance to the max amount of data that can be transferred n blah blah.....

              n no man its not any other application its the theme bcoz of which i cant access to mem card through pc suite in 5130.

              NO i dont think so......in terms of slim looks, colours n camera 6300 is better than 5130 although the video cam of both phone suks.
              n u knw these facts if u r using em....

              bro i think its a off topic conversation (6300 vs 5130).
              n u buddy stick to ur 5130 forum.

                bro i didnt say what you have written is wrong...i said its half correct...meaning its correct but not in the way you have put it.
                Also im not saying that S40 has an option to transfer directly to MMC...I said even though that option is not available, its not a drawback as its automatically saved in MMC when phn memory is over and its not a hindrance to the max amount of data that can be transferred.

                Then abt the theme in MMC..well like i said it depends on the type of theme you use and whether you just used any applications that was in MMC recently. I'm using 5130 and have used 6300 in past, so i know what im talking abt.
                BTW i hope you do know that 5130 is a lot better than 6300 in almost every aspect.

( there asks you the default memory for the files to save , default is Phone Memory, there you can change it to MMC.)

                          bro wat i said was absolutely correct anywayz i m not a nokia hater yaar. i myself always have nokia phones my last phone was nokia 6300 n now i hav samsung s3500 which i find a LOT MORE BETTER than any other phone....it got lot more exiting features....got a awesome music player n cam is excellent....n i also knw everything bout 5130 coz my lil brother have one(n u'll knw this after reading my comment). i like it also.
                          i dont mean to offend anyone.

                          again u r writing out of ur ign0rance i havnt said it does all the time but most of the time whenever i change themes in my 6300 it happens, my ringtones got changed n i really hate that thing.... n it happens in 5130 also. i know it is bcoz of the theme....some themes jus change the ringtones to default one. but it is a headache.. :(

                            1) yes there is o option to transfer files sent thru bluetooth directly to memory card in nokia S40 phns but it doesn't mean that you cannot transfer large amount of data. Whn phone memory is full it automatically switches to memory card...and if the file is too large like a video that is gr8r than 30mb or around 200Mb size it is directly copied to memory card.

                            2)you can access memory card when theme frm memory card is applied...It only shows that msg if the themes you are using a heavy one(has lots of animations and of large size around 500kb+)
                            And its only applicable for 'data storage' mode...you can use 'pc suit' and 'printing and media' mode without any problem when theme is placed in MMC.

                            3)The ringtone thing you are talking abt is not a problem with phn. You are noting it as a problem coz of your lack of understanding on how S40 themes work.

                            It is the creator of a particular theme that decides whether the phn will use default ringtone, or one present in the theme or continues to use the presently set ringtone when that theme is applied (while making a theme there is an option for it)
                            And also if the new theme uses its own ringtone or choose to use default ringtone only the ringtones for contacts you havnt assigned any particular tones gets changed...the assigned tone of your contacts or groups do not change.
                            who told you that assigned tones also gets changed?

I was using Samsung SGH L700 and it loose basic functionality(the bluetooth transfer), so just for confirmation I asked the question.

                                YES in s3500 the files can b directly transfered to ur memory card through bluetooth.
                                u can transfer anythin (videos,pic,data etc) from any phone directly to ur mem card through bluetooth.
                                i dont know why u guyz complaining u knw buddy in nokia 5130 there is no option to transfer ur data directly to ur mem card.

                                i really find it userfriendly...u knw buddy in 5130 if u set a theme saved in ur memory card u even cant use ur pc suite to access ur mem card whenever u connet ur cell through d usb 2 ur p.c...n click data storage it show- memory used by another application... so u have to change the theme or set any other theme which will b in ur phone memory everytime to access ur mem card now cud u find it userfriendly......(i m giving example of nokia for obvious reason) n one more thing if u guyz think that setting a ringtone from mem card will keep its copy in phone memory is a problem than listen this....in many nokia phones when u change themes(downloaded from net) ur ringtone will change to default + all the diffrent ringtones u assigned to ur diffrent contacts also changed to default only by changing the theme n u have to assign all those ringtones again now wat u'l say.......i call this a "PROBLEM"....

                                its a 5.5k phone wat else u need guyz....

                                  Any phone configuration needs the file to be there in the phone memory including wallpaper, ringtone etc...

                                  Only applications can access memory card. And if one application accesses memory card, then the other cannot access it.

                                  Huge limitation for this phone.

                                    What about setting ring tone. If the mp3 file is in MMC and when we set it as ring tone does this operation copy the file to phone memory? If this is so it is not good, same question to you all for wallpapers

                                        every phone got diffrent features yaar u got welcome note in s3500 which u aint get in nokia 7210 supernova or 5130.
                                        n these features like banners n all u'll generally found in basic phones only, many phones which cost 20k doesnt show welcome note but it doesnt decline their grandeur.
                                        n ur speakerphone prompt u only to maintain ur privacy if by mistake u press that middle key....all the people around u can listen to wat may b very private for u.
                                        it prompt u only to ensure that the key hasnt pressed by mistake.
