As such, you can only connect to the SD card. If Samsung cannot solve its own software, I just wonder how it can compete in this market especially with LG coming up so strongly like the Arena

MSM and BRCM stands for diffrent chipset, Qualcomm and Broadcomm respectively.
Star is Broadcomm one, so BRCM is correct, don't change that.
AND PLEASE, DON'T TRY THESE THINGS. IF ANY PROBLEM HAPPENS WITH BOOT SECTOR, THEN YOUR SET IS GONE.

hey king can we buy some other stylus for this phone will that be a problem ?? i mean will it have some negative impact on the screen or what ?

i tried installing java games on my s5233a by the tk fileExplorer method but it did not work....i came to the s5233a system tree then i made a folder in games/java but when i copy or "download" the .jar and .jad files frm my comp the prog just closes?...help me..please?

aditya, 18 Jul 2009can u tell me where to download motion games n themes of s5... moreno not actually motion games like cookie. but you swipe thigs left or right. take driving game. just swipe left or right to turn touch front of car to speed. takes a bit of getting use to.

someone asked this. to get rid of service provider name on screen.
just open widget library on left. then swipe provider name to the side. hey presto no name. full screen picture.
to get it back. go to widget library. look for an aerial picture then swipe to back to screen. simples.

riz, 18 Jul 2009can anyone tell me hows the fone?? im in pak im planning to... morei would honestly buy. its a good phone. basically its a tocco only with 3.2 meg camera. everything else is the same. i am gadget freak and like flash phones. its brill well worth it.
i so like the widgets you get and the touch wiz ui.
all in all a great buy.

king, 18 Jul 2009yes dats wat i think. right handed is right hand operation ... moreyour slider bar for ABC in the phonebook goes on the right hand side if u select right handed operation. apart from that i cannot see any other differences.

King/or anyone esle need help big problem
first when i lick port search then download then
MSM6250/MSM6250A chg to BRCM2133
i again hav to chg it back to MSM6250/MSM6250A & select the check boxes of all the files
20. When it's finished, it will show "ok complete".
done all the step
my multiloader is showing instead of "ok complete" "All files complete"
then another option comes below COM4 ready & the download button is clickable
if i click download then "secruity fail" comes
when i restart the phone an oragne screen comes with a blue bar below,,,

hi.. ok guys i just bought the samsung star bt i cant connect it to my pc nor to my laptop using the PC suite. I have tried n tried but in no success. one more thing wen i connect it once twice i got a msg sayin that the device connected is not registered. I had connected it via the USb cable n was connected to the COM3 port.... PLs help.

just got mine day before..it's s5233a and the play pause glitch is not there.:)
just wanted to know ..can we install the same firmware for s5230 (S5230XXIE7 or S5230XEIG2) on the s5233a?
how can we install java apps - does the TkFileExplorer method work ?

Dear King,
I bought the S5233A last week. Its a great phone but the speaker volume is very low and very less applications, themes etc. If I go for the firmware change will these problems be resolved including the call recording facility?
