Can I add More Widget to the sidebar. nOt the default 1 which i get from the phone.

maddox, 28 Jun 2009Hi guys, I'd just like to ask, does the 'events' widget alw... moredrag the "NO EVENTS" widget from the main screen to the widget toolbar. it appears like a "!" (exclamation mark) symbol.
now this will no more disturb u. however this thing always comes at the top of the toolbar whenever a message or missed call is received, even if u drag it to the bottom of the toolbar, it shall come on top again.

hi all, i've found a way to multi-task with this fone.
i don't know how much RAM it has but u can do a fair amount of multi-tasking with it.
here goes the steps:
1.first u should have found out by now how to use the "GESTURE LOCK" feature in this set. this is the trick.
2.assign alphabets for the applications (from the phone settings) if u have not yet done so.
3.multi-task using the hold key.
suppose u have "MY FILES" opened.
1.now press the hold key once. the screen locks but the backlight is on. make a gesture alphabet on the screen (let's say for the browser).
2.open a page, and as the page loads, press the HOLD key again and type the music player gesture symbol. start a song.
3.Press the HOLD key again and type the symbol for, say JAVA. u can play a game. now press the HOLD key again and open the music player. change the song.
4.pressing the BACK key takes u back to the previous application. now close the game using the BACK key.u shall see ur browser page loaded by then.
5.continue like this and u can multi-task. but yes the fone shall slow down while multi-tasking.

Hi guys, I'd just like to ask, does the 'events' widget always have to stay in the middle of the screen? When I try to move it some other place it does but when I get a message, it moves back to the middle. Even when I placed it on a different widget screen when I get a message it moves to the active screen that I'm using.
And also in having multiple numbers in your contacts, how do you display which number they are using when they SMS you?

Andyr, 27 Jun 2009Help!! - I couldnt resist mucking around with the firmware.... morePanic over! - I took out battery and re-inserted then held volume button and power on button and went into download mode and it then acceped the rc1 & rc2 firmware. Now I have unbranded s5230 phone and a few different features and different widgets and wallpapers. Anyone know where to download the s5233 firmware for europe/UK?

Help!! - I couldnt resist mucking around with the firmware. I am using samsung downloader v5.56 and loaded S5230XEID7 firmware (APPs & Factory FS no boot files) phone re-booted ok and I got some new wallpapers showing but now when I click to go into main menu (bottom right hand screen) instead of menu coming up the phone restarts/goes into reboot mode. What have I done wrong? - went to go and write Rsrc1 and Rsrc2 but the downloader just says 'error Diff Rsrc1 NAND size 4000 20000. Please help if someone can otherwise I have just bricked my s5230!

Have I found a bug? - when I am playing a mp3 in the media player of this phone if i pause it I cannot get it playing again - same if I fast forward it, I cannot get it to play again all i can do is go to next track :-(

yeah there's a way to silence the sound...
just hold down the volume key in idle mode. the options for volume and vibration of tou-tones appear.
pree the volume down button. the sound decreases...

I hate the way its so easy to accidently lock the screen, why when they produced it didnt they make it so it locked after 3 seconds of holding in the lock button instead of locking it immediately?

have you tried flashing without bootfiles ?Hi concerning bootfiles, here's my tip:
If you flash often a new firmware, just to try and perhaps flash back to the previous one, so you're a freak, don't flash bootfiles. Because the probability of problems while flashing naturally increases with number of flashings.
If you flash rarely and are not a pro but more a newbie, you can flash them.
But if somebody has problems with the bootfiles as santhosh mentioned, it's no problem NOT to flash them.
Just click "full download", don't select anything in the "Boot"-box.
