Battery life is very good, I have used it for two days now, and still there are 2 charge points (out of 5) left. It looks like it will come for 3 days. I have used the phone for talking and music. I used to have N73 before this, but this phone really rocks. I comes with USB charging too.

thanks for ur opinion, but i would like to correct some of ur pts
1.5530 has 2.9" display, so not much of diff than STAR
2.16million colur is NOT same as 256k colour!
5. I've heard music on 5233STAR, it is not as bad as u think, the audio Q is good with a descent bass punch, with in-ear headphones, it feels like sony-walkman.
(I used Star-5233 of my frnd)
And most importantly, Nokia is not like Sony-ericsson, i.e. to enter midrange touchscreen segment, they'll keep the price as low as possible. See on gsmarena itself, both the phone's prices are now equal (200 euros) so, in india (one of th favorite country of Nokia) they might keep the price around 11k
but still, i think samsung is better b'coz of its intuitive OS, touchscreen & motion sensor features (Gallery, photo browser, gesture etc) nokia can never match that.
plus symbian OS sucks big time, all symbian phones that i've seen tend to become slow as we load them.
and who knows how 5530 turns out to be???
so i think i'll go with Samsung Star!!!

I have tried last night updating the firmware on my gt-5233a
1.Multiloader 5.56 has reseted the phone to firmware download mode automatically.
2.When I select boot files it popped error
"Unable to find binary",is it ok to proceed ?
3.I did not find amss file in latest firmware but apps binary file is there
Can you please help ??

but then i saw nokia 5530Xm... morewhether u need to wait is simply a matter of ur necessity. samsung is better in most of the features than nokia. but nokia costs twice as much as samsung itself. so its upto u... neway im listing sum of the features of both of dem.
1.ssamsung s5233 has got a larger display (3 inch) while 5530 has 2.8 inch.
2.the resolution of a nokia 16million colur is same as samsung 256k colour.
3.talktime in s5233 is 13 hours but on 5530 its just 4 hours.
4.nokia 5530 has dual speakers but sasung has mono speaker but quality of both shall be same (2 speakers wud mean more load on the battery side).
5.nokia 5530 has expressmusic features while sasung has Direct Natural Sound Engine feature. doubtlessly headphone sound quality in nokia shall be much better.
6.samsung homescreen has got widget feature which is absent on nokia 5530. again s5233 has 3 desktop screens while nokia shall have just one.
7. multi-tasking is possible on nokia due to its symbian 60 v6 OS, but its not possible in the sasung one (except playing music on the background).
8.user-friendliness on the samsung interface is much better than symbian os (for me it took less than a day to understand its features).
9.battery is definitely much better in samsung. the good-battery time for nokia is long gone. nokia batteries in its new sets are really bad.
10.camera on nokia has flash with 3.2 mpix, but in samsung the overall camera quality is much better than nokia (my previous set n73 also had carl zeiss optics but samsung takes better pics than n73).
11.same boring user-interface in nokia symbian OS year after year. no change at all except a very few minor changes. the get-up of samsung is better.
12.themes are not available for both sets as of now. i doubt samsung shall ever have themes but nokia 5530 themes shall be developed within a few months of release. but features of samsung set can be customised similar to nokia themes (each feature separately customisable, not like a complete package like in nokia themes).
13.more video formats are supported on the samsung model than in the nokia model. visibility of movies or videos on nokia shall not be as crisp and crystal clear as in samsung (real media player has its issues).
14.headsets coming with nokia are much better than samsung (though u can connect an external headset to samsung using a 3.5 mm adapter).
15.installation of softwares and applications shall be very easy in nokia but as of now they are a pain in samsung (playing with the software like flashing n stuff is risky).
so its ur chioce. price of samsung s5233a shall be around rs.9000 when nokia 5530 is released which shall be priced at rs.14,500 (almost double the price)...
if u really have a budget of rs.15,000 i'd suggest u go with HTC Touch Viva or HTC Artemis rather than a nokia. its got top-class looks and functionality.

Soham, 25 Jun 2009Thnzzzz I can't take it anymore i will get it by saturday ... morei bought from national radio itself (the chandni one). it costed rs.9,200. so 9100 is a gud price. don't wait just get it. yes u'll get the adapter from national radio itself. cost is rs.300. all d best.

Awesome phone-I like it
I bought samsung star 3 days ago,initially i was also confused between buying cookie and samsung star but i went with samsung star,my decision was right and samsund star is indeed a good phone better than cookie.star was given bad reviews about its battery life and call outgoing quality all these problems were there in it but in the first batch of the phone second batch is improved one and is the best,its interface is awesome,all the widget are very useful,qwerty keypad is easy to use.sound quality both speaker and headphone is very good with slightly lass bass than the apple i pod.battery life is very good around 9 hrs which is far more than the cookie.it has all pdf viewer,image editor etc etc....
i will recommed to but samsung star instead of lg cookie because of its battery life,interface,music quality ,gesture lock,good camera,beautiful screen.and the very best to watch a full movie without recharging.....
i also think that the star has more modern look than cookie
and of course the stylus that's out dated and till now i haven;t used because there is nothind that cannot be done by fingers,any ways if you want to carry stylus you can because the stylus has a very good finish like a luxury pen with gloss and chrome,
another thing i like i s thatsamsung has a very good service network.atleast in India.
the best way to choose is to visit nearest store and use a live phone model.

Got confused for sometime looking at the Nokia 5530Xpressmusic set to launch in Q3
I call up National Radio store they said it retails for Rs 9100 is it a fair deal or shd i bargain,,,,
