The samsung s5230 as an all round under £100 mobile is very good but and its a BIG BUT.....had problems trying to stream shoutcast internet radio stations.
We tried all formats MP3/WMA/AAC player and also installed recommended software from radiobee and virtual radio but to no avail. It still will not play any internet radio. (not a file) but a LIVE STREAM. Sorry, it reduced its wow factor to me by 25%

We have wrote to Samsung tech support and also rang them up. We also ran o2 tech support and spoke to an o2 guru.
No one has a clue!
Very disappointed.
Pull your finger out Samsung.

I bought S5230W Star. I use this phone 2 week and today suddenly cuts off. Wont start up. Some body know about this. Please help me whats going on it?

can anyone tell me how to close the internet browser ? using red(end call) button cause any damage?

newmanv4, 12 Feb 2010About the Wifi thing it worked ! and it's really great in t... morein a way, i do agree...connecting to a wifi hotspot should just be a breeze and not like this that there would be steps to follow and it is some kind of annoying specially to those who doesn't know how to or the peeps who just bought the unit.
there should be an application where you could just connect easily!

About the Wifi thing it worked ! and it's really great in that ! I've made the instructions posted before and it worked ! but after all it still a problem and need a firmware

sorry i don't like n79..
i hate symbian! i just want a simple phone.
I'm currently using a samsung star w/o wifi and the touch is superb, i don't see any problem in touch response of the star..
I bet u haven't tried one.. that's why your claiming that the touch response of star is poor.
You should buy yourself a touchscreen phone.. haha

i say u can have 5230s star wifi but !! the platform and options are not nice for me !! y do u go for touch !! otuch in these 5230s is not good !!

little more help plz, how we cann see movie i... morejust change the format of the movie with avc[any video convertor]to mobile mp4.you can download avc from net.just type any video convertor on google.

epic fail for samsung makin this kind of phone, it freeze when you moving pics, sounds, etc. from phone to mem. card. and about wallpaper i dont like the style, you need to crop it first so you can fit it on... poor sounds, no flash LED for camera, low life battery you, DONT BUY THIS PHONE!! WASTING MONEY FOR THIS!!!

Hi All, It sounds that all of you had some problems with WIFI connectivity...I has so too.
What you have to do is:
Go to web browser and delete all history,coockies and cashe files ( settings----> delete cashe....etc.)
Then restart your phone...
Get connceted againg...
Make sure you are close to the router ( at least in your first time) and have fun...
I hope this will help you guys till they release a new free-of-error software.

Star Wifi is good nut, no flsh...wifi doesn't seem too good but it works with me.
WIFI is very very stylish phone and nice looking...
