I am from India..recently bought Samsung Star 3G for Rs.9900=00 with 2 GB Memory card. The main thing making me buy this fone was the preview by GSMARENA ..and how thankful I am to them fo' helping me make right choice.
The handset is an excellent performer all features working exactly OK.The camera snaps very good shots, Video quality is just fine. GOOGLE MAPS gives high quality guidance system even in small cities in India..video & music player excellent too.

Love, 29 Dec 2009guys......... i have a serious problem... my fone's not d... moresamsung phones are sometimes choosy when it comes to memory card.. i also experienced that problem with my G600, i thought the problem was on the unit,what i did is i use a different memory card and then it works.. problem solved.. hope that you'll have the same result as mine..

1. I... more1. GPS function of this h/s is region specific....so in India the h/s doesnt come with GPS.
2. Google maps comes pre-installed on this phone, however, it requires active internet connection, so it wont work offline.
3. Since the h/s doesnt have any hardware GPS receiver, GPS wont work on it even if u manage to install any GPS software.
Ideally, google maps detects the onboard GPS (if any) and works pretty well, except that it doesnt have voice navigation.

plz dont buy this phone........no extra theams.....no zoom.........no recod while talking......no extra games.......only u can store 200msg...not good bettary backup

1. I bought this mobile in India, it does not seem to have GPS receiver. I want to know, how to use google maps on this mobile.
2. Can I use maps offline? Like download maps and store in it.
3. Can I install any GPS software on it. If so how?

Samsung gt s5603 ( Samsung Star 3G) support third party softwares like opera 5 beta. It is a very good browser than the phone own browser. You can try it by typing www.opera.com/mini/next in ur phone's browser.

jiji, 14 Dec 2009it has GPS or not?it has no GPS, but it has google maps. however, i think that the google map isn't as accurate as GPS.

Hi,
