Phone is WiFi and site says so.
I guess solution to qwerty is to install 3rd party apps that enables landscape qwerty for SMS, Notes, browsing...

This phone has WI-FI? Beacuse the page of SAMSUNG says not has WI-FI

Hi...just got this phone y'day. It is an excellent phone with many good features. The finish and look is amazing. Its very user-friendly and the screen is superb. Music quality and radio recording is class. I want to thank gsmarena and all you nice people out there for helping me make the right choice. The sad part is the lack of qwerty keyboard and inconvenient messaging. I hope the smart guys from Samsung are reading this and will do something about it. All in all, a great phone at a great price.

1.DOes this phone gives the soft QWERTY in land scapemode for SMS/EMAIL?
2.Does this phone allows USB charging through phone.
3.DOes this have the capability to have the multitasking?

I bought this phone here in the Philippines. There's no task manager. I can't launch it and there's no task manager in the manual.
Pls help me, how to have the task manager thanks :)

I bought it in Indonesia and the middle button does not bring up the task manager for me either. The only time it is coming when it runs out of resources and some app should be shut down to free up resources. But even at that time it does not really work as it is not possible to end particular apps, only the end all apps "button" works.
It seems the commercial model has less features than the pre-comm tested here...

This phone is quite good! but it missing some things... :( like landscape qwerty keyboard....
good multitasking though, just press and hold the middle key and voila! task manager! :)
by the way, anyone knows that this phone can install java apps without downloading over internet? i mean just like sony ericsson phones... where you just put the file on the phone and install?

All you guys who are planning to get this phone, i suggest you should go for the i5700 Spica. For a couple of bucks more, you'll get a smart phone..
Not just a smart phone, its ANDROID. simply the best
here in the philippines, the retail price of monte is around P10,200.
The i5700 spica retails around P13,700.
you see? Its just a matter of P3,000 guys.
so go get the spica! Android is the best!!

I think the over all specs gives an impression of good value for money. But can someone tell me whether I can download the outlook calendar from my PC to Monte? Every article about the phone is very vague with respect to this feature. It only talks about google synch. For me that is one of the most important needs in a phone

simple_guy, 09 Apr 2010limited multitasking only. not like nokia. music player + i... moreno you do not know anything about touchwhiz phones. i am using samsung corby it has very good multitasking in which you can minimize three applications plus you can switch between browser, calling, message, application, music as well as applications. my does not even get slow. monte will have better multitasking feature than corby. so far more usable than nokia in terms of multitasking because nokia hangs easily. how can you say about the phone when you have not touched or used this phone.
