When i get a phone call, it comes up with Unknown, even though caller information is set to “show” and the contacts calling are in my phonebook. How do i fix this?

ABINBOLA, 29 Jul 2010when u snap d phone shows blank please were can i repair it... moreyou have to change it in the phone settings so that when you shut it, it stays unlocked. might be under slide or something

when i am calling the orange helpline, my screen goes blank and i cant type anything into the keypad therefore cant pay my bill using my phone... i can answer calls and hang up but while im in call the screen is totally blank?? help please!!

i bought this phone 2 mnths ago... and i m fully satisfied with it..! actually i love it!! but the only problem is that i cant read messages during a call..!is that function absent in this set.?? or its just me who cant find it?

katie, 27 May 2010I agree battery is so poor... and its getting worst each day..battery life is terrrible,no wifi ,was great in its day,brilliant camera but using it much eats the battery so a bit pointless ,good phone in its day but its day has come and gone,has stood the time well though,still looks the bees knees and performs quite well ,no reliability issues for me.an 8/10 for me,well done samsung

Hey, I'm considering buying this phone against a nokia x6. I know the nokia beats this phone hands down, but i dont feel like spending an exrtra $150 more.
Is it just me, or is the touch a bit unresponsive? what do you think I should do?

Well, now that the Bada OS is released and it's included in the same S series that this phone belongs to, is it to possible to install Bada OS on this phone to make it a smartphone?
Even if that requires hacking the software.

been using for an year plus.
i don't see any problem with this phone, just that this phone don't have wifi. I own a nokia n86, I could say both are equally perfect.
just don't understand why this phone got bad comments, are you a s8300 user or just flamming here..
this phone is very stylish on its design.
Since Samsung doesn't provide good supports on the softwares from websites, here is a forum for Samsung users, latest firmware you can get from here, thanks.

I have had this phone on contract coming up to a year now and in all honesty at the time was a great phone but obviously there were better phones on the market.
So anyways, this phone kind of sucks now, the scrolling on the main screen, is lagging a bit, and the keypad is small.
If anyone is thinking of getting this now (in 2010), don't get it, get something else instead and save the hassle of getting an outdated phone
