i've just watched transformers 2 on the wave using the given handsfree..know what?..it's simply awesome..absolutely awesome..no words can describe the video & audio quality except to xperience it on-hand..
i appreciate what samsung had done in coming up wth the wave's specs..the subtitle function works wonder..even some dedicated dvd players out there didnt hv subtitle function..
by the way, the movie is in .avi format..i'm gonna try & watch .mkv file..

What's the difference between flashing your firmware and simply updating it through Kies because when I pluged in my phone today it told me there is a new firmware update (DXJE9 to DXJEB).

but still, it's not that easy to fill an 8gb card to the full..even my previous Jet would struggle to fill the 2gb card..now it's 4 times bigger..i think i can live wth that..

yes it comes with a leather case, but i honestly feel that i'm not gonna use it..coz the case is new,it's quite tight,not that easy to put the phone in & out of the case..besides, i just like the feeling of having it in my pocket..hehe..w'out the case tho..
mm..so far so damn good..i hv to say this again & again eventho many had said it..THE SCREEN IS AWESOME!!..even my colleagues were amazed at it..the features is definitely far far away more advanced than my s8000 (Jet)..i'd set up my e-mail account seamlessly..but i'm not so into social hub..well..maybe not before i hv my wave..
i surveyed at low yatt 1st..they're selling it at RM1799 wth same spec (8gig card,navigation,case)..it's a different of RM100 just between 2 buildings separated by a car lane..luckily i did my survey first..go ask around so that u wont regret..

Just think of the S8000 and S8003. They are the same animal. What one eats, the other also eats... Problem solved!!!

Samsung should have posted 2 gig user memory and 32 gb card support to all their websites so as not to create confusion. And state it explicitly in their Phils website that Wave has a 1 ghz cpu. All other S8500 websites has that info except in the Philippines. Very curious. The idea of a company trying to cut corners is always at the back of my mind.
Until someone could CONFIRM that Wave Phils version has a 1 ghz cpu, I'll keep piggy bank intact.

It appears that if you have a DX firmware, the Max EXTERNAL mem is 8gb. If you do not put in an external card, you only have 400bm to use but the phone's mem is 2 gig. This 2 gig is partitioned as follows: 600mb ROM; 1gb Applications; and 400 mb free. This 400mb is what you see when you connect to PC. I hope I was able to clear you there. (pardon spelling, im using my wave)

I have had a few samsung fones and I have never had any probs with them. I generally tend to think If they work fine from the start samsung phones are pretty reliable.

One thing that I distaste (im talking for myself) is the zise of the widgets. Nothing stays together in one panel/screen. I hope I can find a widget of a calendar and time in one panel. They are nice though particularly the Buddies now and Daily Briefing...
Video - Excellent in all aspects
Music Player - Nothing gets near it (Rock + Bass Enhancement) WOW!!! And this setting works even with Bluetooth.
All you see in the video and written reviews, they are all there and are true...
It worth the money and most of all, the wait jeje...

Any explanation from Samsung why t... morei guess memory and CPU are the same from other countries. Every thing can be controlled through firmware like the A-GPS support, memory limits, CPU limits.
But one thing is for sure, hardware are still the same, it still have a GPS receiver, only aGPS support was not included..

All you have to do is get the external memory you want up to 32gb. But make sure that your FW supports that. Im using a 8gb external. My FW supports up to 32Gb.

Are they trying to say Pinoys need less memory than others? That's absurd. Samsung thought people won't notice.
S8500 UK has 2 gb
S8500 Thailand has 1 gb
S8500 Malaysia has 1 gb
S8500 Philippines has only 397 mb!
If Samsung could explain it to us why the small memory, that there will no performance issues and others. And tell us Wave S8500 Phils version use a 1 ghz cpu with 512 mb ram. I WILL BUY THIS PHONE.
