I am a linux user and i need a "smartphone" but my principle is to give no money to apple nor ms so samsung open source os is very very welcome here...
...and the handset itself is well built and stunningly overspec'd for the price (£325 next day delivered)
I see this handset/os just perfect and the fact there are already 60 or more free apps it's just a bonus imo...
I would buy it even without app store at all, ah, i tried it in a shop, before writing bad things about this phone, get it in your hands first, you might be surprised...

You... moreUnfortunatly N8 is a Symbian phone, I have N97 and I want to change it because the OS is not good, I hope Symbian 3 will be better, if not, the N8 could be the second great disapointing Nokia phone, even with a 12 mpx camera. I will change my N97 for the Samsung Wave.

Anonymous, 03 Jun 2010HELP!!! Any Wave owner facing short battery life problem... moreI get a day and a half to two days out of my wave with average use. The new super AMOLED does not require a backlight like all other handsets and so saves battery by 30. Hope this helps.

Since Bada is closed source I Will choose N8 over Wave. You cant download applications from other source except Bada store. Besides Screen and Fast cpu Wave has Nothing to boast against N8. Cant wait to get hands on N8.

Has ... moreFor the issue with you tube player - yes it will freeze the phone once left on Pause and phone dims display but you can unlock the screen, click screen dim button so screen goes black again, when you click button again - you can use the phone again and no need for restart.

Pinoy here, I got mine yesterday from VMall in Greenhills. It only cost me 18800 with the inclusion of a 8gb micro sd though im planning to have it replaced with either a 16 0r 32 gig card. I was disappointed though for I learned that samsung retracted from producing the 8gig internal memory version of the wave, the reason of which i dont know. Nonetheless the phone is superb in all aspects! youre really in for a treat when you buy this phone.

How can I change one of the 3 icons at the bottom of the screen with the "HOME" icon similar to the photo above? Right now what I have are the keypad,pnoebook and messaging icons? Can somebody help me? Thanks.
