i found a post on movilzone.org (in spanish) saying that the wave has a release date in may on the play.com site.i went to the play.com site and they have it for pre-order for 441.99 euros with free delivery and its the 8gb model with a "due to release date" marked as 14/05/2010.havent found anything from samsung to confirm the release date although play.com seem pretty certain of it.

Anonymous, 29 Apr 2010Please help me dear friends... I want to choose between... moreif u want larger screen and android os,you can go for desire..

if u want metal chasis, super amoled display and 720p video recording/playback,u can wait for this...it also have better battery(1500 mAh) vs desires(1400 mAh)...
              (rest specs are almost same)

imo its better as compared to desire..only drawback is availability of applications, since bada os is new in the market..

Nadeo, 28 Apr 2010Why this not have 3G for Canada?? very sadI think it will have 3G for Canada!!! but you might have to buy an unlocked version from the US
check this out, FCC just approved a version with 850MHz 3G, which would be compatible with the HSPA networks of Rogers, Telus & Bell:

Anonymous, 28 Apr 2010which type of screen is better a resistive or capacitiveFor these sort of devices, capacitive touch screens are better as they offer more durability. However, some capacitive touch screens don't perform very well in some phones (but that was mostly older phones). If you look around youtube for the S8500 demos, you will see that this might be one of the best capacitive screens ever put on a phone. it's very responsive to multi-touch and very accurate. In some ways it actually seems to take some advantages of resistive (like accuracy for handwriting recognition) and applying them to the performance of the capacitive screen

Remember that the Super AMOLED allows them to have better screen sensitivity than the competition

These times, Samsung is gorgeous for me. S8500Wave first to be release(June?) and I9000, I8520Beam M8920(maybe).
But very happy with the new Nokia N8. Finally Nokia makes a great new High-End model. Just a little later (2-3 months later Samsung S8500 or new I-Phone) but Nokia back in the battle !
