I am saying true things that i experienced with samsung wave. In my N86 i can browse net for around 6 hours with opera mini. 4 hours with phone default browser even though it has only 1200 mAh battery. Internet in samsung wave sucks, so does e-mail.

am using the phone for about 1 month and noticed the followings -ve things :

1- Very bad GPS hardware : it takes 2-3 minutes (as min.) to lock , while my friend's HTC wildfire taking not more than 20 seconds !..

2- the wilrelss lan is not connecting with every modem or ad-hoc connection !! .. even the samsung support center didn't know what's the reason !!

3- few app (becoz of the new OS -bada-)..

                that's all ..!

Black Bird, 05 Jan 2011ya man. u are rite. i too love d wave. but i have started u... moreyou don't love the wave,no need to start with a lie, there is no logic in going from n86 to wave to n86 again, only a nokia fan will use the word "trusted phone"to describe a laggy symbian phone.

"email in wave always shows 'dns failed'"
Never happened with me,the email in wave is will organized ,easily accessible, and the only problem faced me is when trying to download a large attachment which said to be fixed in bada 1.2

"web browser is too slow compared to N86"
what r u saying??? on wifi, 3g connections the dolphin browser is one of the fastest browsers out there ,visit youtube with your n86 to check the great performance.

"And whenever i use opera mini 5 in wave, within 1 hour, 10% battery goes out. "
this is the power consumption with browsing:
                      browse with 2G 4:09 hrs
                      browse with 3G 2:46 hrs
                      browse with WiFi 4:09 hrs
for me 4 hours is great number

"But the nimbuzz (java) in wave sucks a big time. Always gets disconnected."
parlingo is the official IM app for the wave ,the latest modified version is working like a charm the only problem is lack of smileys.

"the default asphalt 5 game dat comes with wave is not good. It lags, crappy graphics. "
the game is great with great graphics ,any one can check youtube but yes with bada 1.0 1st release there were insignificant stutter occurs from time to time.

Applications still lack Smartphone quality and quantity. They keep concentrating on Games rather than applications.Probably they want this phone popular with college kids rather than Business class. Still no Voip, good Office application, Business card reader, Ebook reader like Isilo, even a good Browser where we can save pages. This phone has Exellent Hardware bur it is unutilised. I ll Also wait. Samsung Are you Listening?

                            Guys ,
I have a problem with my wave. I cant do tele conferencing as it shows join failed and everytime i click a pic and go to view it it makes a strange sound. and when i play some games it always shows memory less and proceeds to close applications in my home screen. Mine is bada 1.0 version should i go for upgrade or should i go for service center and fix this and is this problem common among wave users..??

Rambler, 05 Jan 2011I love my Samsung Wave GT-S8500 for so many reasons... the ... moreya man. u are rite. i too love d wave. but i have started using back my old N86, a trusted device. . . . .email in wave always shows 'dns failed', web browser is too slow compared to N86. And whenever i use opera mini 5 in wave, within 1 hour, 10% battery goes out. N more disaster wen i use the wave's default dolpin browser. I use nimbuzz in N86. But the nimbuzz (java) in wave sucks a big time. Always gets disconnected. However the pics n vids of wave's camera are very good. Even the intergrated facebook app in wave is not too good. It doesn't show 'notifications'. Sometimes shows 'facebook server not stable'. Samsung didn't get the job done properly in maintaining network connectiviy, unless u are using WIFI. Wave's screen is great, actually greatest of all. N guys, the default asphalt 5 game dat comes with wave is not good. It lags, crappy graphics. Try 'Need For Speed : Shift' its very very smooth. No lags at all. I have completed this game. Very good graphics n very smooth.

Sadly due to lack of apps n the problems i mentioned, m gonna switch to android in few coming months.

I've upgrade once the software of my wave once, with no problem. Last week i've tried to upgrade to the newest version available in Kies and the process failed. This crashed my phone's software and i made many trials using kies instructions to recover it, but it gave me many fails until it worked. Now i'm scared of using kies update software. I'm really pleased with this phone and it's capabilities but i also need to upgrade it. It's a pitty to waste such a smartphone with unsuccesfull pc software.

I love my Samsung Wave GT-S8500 for so many reasons... the hardware is terrific at the price it comes for, the screen is gorgeous. BUT Samsung KIES SUCKS BIG TIME - I have tried so, so, so many times updating my firmware for 1.0 to 1.2 and each time it gets stuck and I'm asked to recover. I press Vol - + Camera + Power/End Call button to get into recovery mode, but it always goes into download mode. I wanted to give Bada a shot, despite a lot of negative reviews, and hoped it would get better with time, but updating being such a pain, and like in my case, not happening, I don't see my user experience improving anytime soon. There are talks of Bada 1.2 coming to India soon, and 2.0 thereafter and features like Over-the-Air-Updates, but with me stuck with 1.0 despite my Kies showing I have an upgrade waiting everytime I start KIES, I'm moving on to an iPhone 4 soon.

I've used the phone for 3/4 months now - absolutely love the audio/video playback. The audio, with its Wolfson chip, beats any iPod/iPhone hands down, but BADA as an OS is undercooked. It's a shame, such a terrific piece of hardware is trottled by BADA. Yes, many in this forum will scream 'murder' and defend BADA as an OS, and point towards forthcoming updates, but with updating itself being so painful, and not possible in many case, what's the point?

If somebody could only port Android on to the Samsung S8500 Wave, I'm sure it would beat the Galaxy S in terms of looks, size and camera (with the LED flash). Performance wise, I guess it would be the same, system RAM could perhaps be an issue.

To repeat again, I love the Wave S8500, but am moving on soon...
