is it true that the update will remove the 'out of memory' problem of wave?? I am trying to choose between galaxy s and wave and this matters a lot to me..Afterall what is the use of having a smartphone when it caanot run applications properly..

      Guys.. I must say this wave is higher than tides.. Awesome, fabulous,fantastic,great phone.. the video recording is really SPECIAL thing in it.. touch is like wowwwwwww!! music player n the cam is very nice too.. !! Recommended strongly.. All the best !!

        People, wave has wolfson dedicated music chip WM8994.this phone is freaking awesome.Wave don't have hdmi(like garbage n8),but something much better- dlna technology !!!


        THIS IS THE BEST PHONE EVER MADE AND IT IS NOT EXPENSIVE.THANK YOU SAMSUNG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

              After some members asked how to use Kies to update Firmware after they used Multiloader to manually update FW, I searched and tried to find solution, and here it is:

              NOTE!!! I use Windows 7, so there might be some slight differences with older Windows.

              Ok, lets start:

              When you install S8500XXJF1 Firmware on Wave using Multiloader(this is on your risk read Darkforest instructions). This is important since I don't know is Kies updating complete FW.

              Download latest version of kies, uninstall old one and install new.

              Now find rapi.dll and ceutil.dll in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Samsung\Device Service
              and copy them to C:\Program Files\Samsung\Kies

              Run kies, connect the phone in Kies mode

              Open regedit (just type regedit when you press Windows start button), on the left you can see folders.
              Find Samsung->Kies->DeviceDB->2 (there you can see big list of Wave info, if you are lazy to uninstall and install Kies there will be a lot of those folders with numbers, only one contains all data so you can find it by the amount of data shown (whole page)).
              Here you need to modify following:


              ProductCode: GT-S8500BAADBT

              When you do that, now you can close reg-edit.

              Start Phone update.
              (I hope you figured out that ProductCode needs to mach firmware version - csc combo, this refers to future updates with Kies).

              Only thing i want to point out is that in regedit the folder you interested in is :
              HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Samsung \ KIES \ DeviceDB \ 2 (or 4 or 6..)

              And the easy way to find out ProductCode for YOUR Wave is to go to one of the web-stores in YOUR country who sells this phone take a look in detail info or description of it . Mine was GT-S8500BAAXEE.

              If you want more permanent(easy) way to fix register you can make a file 'something-something.reg' (create txt file> save as> ???.reg) In that file you will put for example :

              ----------------------------------------------------- (not this line)
              Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

              [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Samsung\Kies\DeviceDB\2]
              "ProductCode"="GT-S8500BAAXEF"
              ------------------------------------------------------(not this line)
              (But you want behold that one empty line between.)

              When this is done all you need to do is :
              1. Run KIES
              2. Connect your phone
              3. Run ???.reg file (this will fix your register)
              4. Update yout phone :)

              Here are Some of the Codes which u can use to check ur phone info..

              *#1234# - Shows Firmware version.
              *#197328640# - Internal Settings
              *2767*3855# - Hard Reset
              *#0228# - Battery Info
              *#0*# - LCD test
              cp UART (full power) or ap uart (powersaver) modes via *#8740#

              preconfiguration:

                Steps to install ProductCode of ur choice-

                My original product code was ProductCode: GT-S8500BAAFOP.
                When I installed the S8500XXJID_Flash Full, and chose XEU in preconfiguration setting,
                my product code was changed to GT-S8500BAAXEU in registry.
                I tried to revert back to my original GT-S8500BAAFOP by installing all available
                full firmwares, starting with S8500XXJF1 to S8500XXJH3 (using OXC CSC) but the registry
                still showed my product code as GT-S8500BAAXEU.

                At last I found the solution. And with this method, you can freely now choose the product code you
                want for your phone. Just follow the steps below:

                1. Install S8500XXJID_Full with the CSC file that contains the product code of your choice
                (Example 1: OXA for SKT, XEO, XEF. XEU, ITV, DBT (Germany, France,UK, Italy, etc
                2: OXC for FOP, THP, EUR (Spain, Portugal, Greece, etc)
                3. etc, etc.
                2. After installation, hard reset phone. Then go to admin mode => preconfiguration => and
                install the CSC of your choice. Whichever you install will now be your product code.
                Connect phone to KIES and check your windows registry.

                NOTE: If you install S8500XXJID_Full with the default CSC file (in example 1 above) it's all easy.
                But if you install with any other CSC file, phone will normally reboot constantly if you try to go
                into MENU and setting. Don't worry, just install, hard reset, then enter admin mode to install your preferred CSC.
                Once done, your product code will now be that of the CSC you have installed.
                You can now put off phone, and flash your phone with that country's firmware and update to latest firmware via KIES.

                OBSERVATION: I have tried this experiment with 2 XX phones and it worked perfectly for me.
                Others should try and give feedback.

                ADVANTAGES: If you have, for example, product code GT-S8500BAAFOP (Spain) with latest firmware as JH1.
                And in Gemany, for eample, KIES has newer firmware, say JH7.
                You can easily change your product code to GT-S8500BAADBT and upgrade via KIES.

                  plz read all the instructions carefully before proceeding and do it on your own risk !!!!!

                  First of all you have download bada 1.2 with and multiloader from http://www.multiupload.com/8P155MOV1J

                  the battery life will take a small hit when upgraded to bada 1.2 and ur warranty will go for a toss as ,Only official updates thru KIES continue to have warranty.
                  also now the low battery warning is on 5% not 10%.

                  plz backup all your contacts,messages,videos,photos by using kies and also make a note of the apps that u installed or else u will lose ur data.
                  also it is good if u make a note of the bluetooth and wifi mac id:- with the imei no.
                  also make a backup of the route 6 gps data and do not format the memory card as it contains the gps data.

                  1.Unzip the downloaded .rar file(password is:-samfirmware.com)
                  2.open extracted folder
                  3.open Multiloader (Run as administrator if you are using Vista or windows 7)
                  4.select LSI
                  5.Check Full Download (Do not check Boot Change cause it may gives some serious problem if you didn't flash properly)
                  6.Click Amss button and select amss.bin file from extracted folder..
                  7.like this select all files
                  8.Apps - apps_compressed.bin
                  9.Rsrc1 - Rsrc_S8500_Open_Europe_Common.rc1
                  10.Rsrc2 - Rsrc2_S8500_Open_Euro_Common(Low).rc2
                  11.Factory FS - FactoryFs_S8500_Open_Europe_Common.ffs
                  12.CSC - CSC_S8500_Open_Europe_Common_OXA_XXJID.csc
                  13.SHP APP - ShpApp.app

                  14.Power off your phone(Wave)
                  15.connect your phone to pc using Usb cable provided with Wave..(Make sure that samsung kies installed on your pc).
                  16.Press and hold the following keys to enable Download mode
                  (Down Volume key, Lock button, End key(Power on or off button))
                  17.Now the phone will turned on with Download Enabled mode.
                  18.On the pc the driver will installed if it is not already installed.Wait until it finishes the installation process of Driver
                  19.Now press "Port Search" button on the Multiloader window
                  20.then it will show the Ready status if the driver installed properly(means the phone is connected properly)
                  21.Now press Download Button. It will start the flashing procedure. wait for 5 to 20 minutes( Approx)
                  After completing the flashing process the phone will restarts automatically.and then u will get a blue screen with some codes and again the phone will restart automatically.
                  22.Disconnect the Usb cable.
                  23.after u successfully install the new firmware hard reset by using *2767*3855# and then the phone will boot.
                  24.use this tutorial to update the camera firmware-
                  http://www.samfirmware.com/apps/blog/show/4942348-update-camera-fw-s8500
                  25.then change to cp UART (full power) or ap uart (powersaver) modes via *#8740# as u like
                  28.reinstall the contacts,messages, appps and other backup data through kies.
                  26.lastly check if bluetooth,wifi or imei id's are changed or not.
                  27.download the latest route 66 maps or use the free version u already downloaded:-
                  1) download route 66 sync on http://www.66.com/route66/index.php?cid=US&act=1&catid=255
                  2) Run the installed program.
                  3) Connect your phone to your computer with a USB data cable and switch your phone to "Mass storage" mode. You can do this by going to "Menu > Settings > Connectivity > USB" and by subsequently selecting "Mass storage > Set".
                  4) In the program, select "STORE > ROUTE 66 Store". Identify which products you need and add them to the shopping cart.some will be free.
                  5) When all products are in the shopping cart, select "Checkout".
                  6) Disconnect your phone from your computer.
                  7) Start the navigation application on your phone by selecting "Navigation" in the main menu.



                  note- If it gets stuck on the bada screen when it restarts take out battery and then it will restart and work properly.
                  note-if u cannot connect to kies then (Click KIES on the top left side and select Driver Recovery..)

                    while recieving messages through palringo on gtalk the message content is displayed on the top bar of the phone is there a way to hide the content of the message and just a simple "1 new message"?

                      hi wave mates!!!after I changed the internal settings of speaker and earphone, both I set the values to 100db. everything works fine and really awesome audio quality!!!all you have to do is find the perfect match of the music player settings, when you are in earphone mode just choose bass enhancement and rock and it will surely ROCK YOUR MUSIC EXPERIENCE!!

                          AHMED SHAFIK, 14 Oct 2010Is this mobile like all Samsung mobiles in which: 1- Whe... morewhen the battery reaches 10% only the multi-media is cut off,eg.music player,camera,video and video player and such.you can still use the internet browser but the screen turns off faster than normal so you are always unlocking it.calls and messages as normal.with low battery ive had some problems with wifi conections but nothing to worry about.all sent messages are saved and can be viewed as normal or conversation mode.
