Pratim Roy, 10 Oct 2010How about these differences... 1. Wave doesnt have predect... moreTo present my fair view on Wave.

1. Wave does have predictive dialing. No smart dialing? No problem. It is a smart phone, just install smart dialing widget. Done. I find it quite useful when using the smart dialing widget on my home screen.

2. Ok... i agree with u N8 has advantage on this.

3. Alright... N8 wins. Because i myself like the N8's camera quality BUT not the megapixels. If the optic and the sensor use in Wave, i'm sure Wave with 5mp can also shoot photos as nice as N8.

4. N8 has bigger screen but may look pixelette because it has a low resolution on big regular amoled screen only. For bigger fingers person, choose wisely between 3.3' or 3.5'.

5. I dont see this is a need for comparison. As u said in the point of no. 8.. .Symbian exist in last two decades. Bada only 5 months! How can you compare it. But it is a shame too... Bada has better UI and performance compare to old Symbian OS which exist long enough on the smartphone market. Bada 1.2 also support T9 Trace... Does Symbian support it? or just Swype? Anyhow T9 Trace is smarter than Swype.

6. If there is a chance to fit the same processor but running different OS... see who is the resource hunger! So i cant say Bada is the winner or Symbian here. But as far as i know many Nokia users facing lagging problem lol....

7. Wave does not need separate GPU man... i tried few HD 3D games on Wave... it is really awesome and cool to play on super amoled screen.

8. That was past tense. And dont count the apps of Bada. Not fair! Look at ios 4 and android. Shame on Symbian... exist in the market for so long.. .the number of apps losing for IOS4 and Android.

      Check this out:

      http://www.latest-price.com/latest-mobile-phones/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/meizu-m9.png

      The UI certainly looks nice.
Hope Samsung could provide a theme as clean as that.
And look at the home screen. It's clean and classy. :-)
      Maybe it's just me.

      But here's my two cents:
I think a different color other than black will not be implemented in the future. S-AMOLED screens are more energy-efficient with black colors. And it can't handle different shades of gray properly unless you crank up the brightness level to 6 or higher. Which consumes more power. So I guess we're stuck with black menu background. Hope I'm wrong though.

          If you need good camera.
Just purchase a good digital camera instead of N8.
People feel 500 mega pixels sufficient generally.
We need a smart phone as a phone not a camera.
N8 is inferior to Wave in every aspect except a camera.
          Futheremore, Wave2(S8530) has 3.7 inch screen :)
          bye~ N8~

Pratim Roy, 10 Oct 2010How about these differences... 1. Wave doesnt have predect... moreyou don't need to say more but you need to check (youtube videos) that demonstrates the fast performance and the eye candy UI of bada and compare it to the slow and laggy symbian 3
and here is my answer for your kid's comparison:

1.wave still has no smart dialing but it is very responsive phone so making a fast call is no problem swipe right on a contact name make a call swipe left send a message!!

2.Wave cant store more than 1300 txts total??!!!! i don't like to store all of my messages but if i want to do so ,in my inbox i choose back up text messages to my memory card ,unlimited number of messages.

3.n8 has the best camera in mobile phone, but wave has the led flash which allows wave to capture video in a complete dark conditions ,also wave captures HD videos in a higher frame rate.

4.wave has 3.3" screen which makes the phone a pocket friendly but in the same time it is the super amoled screen the best in the market with 480 x 800 resolution ,gives the user the best video playback experience in mobile phones ,while n8 uses regular amoled screen with a resolution of only 360 x 640 pixels.....who is the winner?? ;)

5.wave has bada and n8 has symbian(i can easily answer this but check the performance of both by yourself in youtube videos)

6.so bada ,android ,iOS,windows phone 7 ,use 1ghz processor because the are resources hungry.???!!!!
i don't think so the main reason is that symbain due its limitations can't use 1GHz processor ,512gb ram and the slowness an lagging of symbian 3 is the best proof.

7.wave uses smasung hummingbird processor the one used in galaxy and iphone 4 and as you know it has built in gpu which has the best performance in the market 90million triangle/sec !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                    8.I get bored ....good night

Hi, im planning to buy a new phone. I currently own a Nokia 5800xm. I want some insights on this phone, because im currently confused which phone to buy (samsung wave or N8). Dont badmouth the phones, i wont take them. I need actual stats, experience. wave costs Approximately 428 USD here, N8 will be released here soon approximately 571 USD. Right now im banking on wave due to the price difference. Im buying next weekend. Thank you.

Mark, 10 Oct 2010How do you guys like the Wave? Is it a problem that it is o... more1.samsung wave is one of the best phones I've ever used, best screen in the market (super amoled screen with resolution 480 x 800),5.1 virtual surround sound,1ghz processor with the best gpu (samsung hummingbird 90 million triangle/sec),512mb of ram,the European Social Media Phone 2010-2011.........etc

2.from wikipedia "A smartphone is a mobile phone that offers more advanced computing ability and connectivity than a contemporary basic feature phone. Smartphones and feature phones may be thought of as handheld computers integrated within a mobile telephone, but while most feature phones are able to run applications based on platforms such as Java ME,a smartphone allows the user to install and run more advanced applications based on a specific platform. Smartphones run complete operating system software providing a platform for application developers."

so i think it is very obvious that samsung wave is an advanced smartphone it has bada os one of the fastest and smoothest OS's in the market that only can be compared to iOS and android.

3.although bada apps still only 1200 apps but remember samsung bada app store is only 5 months old and the number will reach 7000 at the end of the year you can also download java applications ;)

4.samsung wave has the normal tv out and something more advanced than the HDMI called DLNA which enables the wave to run HD contents on HD tv without the use of cables!!!!!

Steps to install Product Code of ur choice-

My original product code was Product Code: GT-S8500BAAFOP.
When I installed the S8500XXJID_Flash Full, and choose XEU in preconfiguration setting,
my product code was changed to GT-S8500BAAXEU in registry.
I tried to revert back to my original GT-S8500BAAFOP by installing all available
full firmwares, starting with S8500XXJF1 to S8500XXJH3 (using OXC CSC) but the registry
still showed my product code as GT-S8500BAAXEU.

At last I found the solution. And with this method, you can freely now choose the product code you
want for your phone. Just follow the steps below:

                          1. Install S8500XXJID_Full with the CSC file that contains the product code of your choice
(Example 1: OXA for SKT, XEO, XEF. XEU, ITV, DBT (Germany, France,UK, Italy, etc
2: OXC for FOP, THP, EUR (Spain, Portugal, Greece, etc)
                          3. etc, etc.
                          2. After installation, hard reset phone. Then go to admin mode => preconfiguration => and
install the CSC of your choice. Whichever you install will now be your product code.
Connect phone to KIES and check your windows registry.

NOTE: If you install S8500XXJID_Full with the default CSC file (in example 1 above) it's all easy.
But if you install with any other CSC file, phone will normally reboot constantly if you try to go
into MENU and setting. Don't worry, just install, hard reset, then enter admin mode to install your preferred CSC.
Once done, your product code will now be that of the CSC you have installed.
You can now put off phone, and flash your phone with that country's firmware and update to latest firmware via KIES.

OBSERVATION: I have tried this experiment with 2 XX phones and it worked perfectly for me.
Others should try and give feedback.

ADVANTAGES: If you have, for example, product code GT-S8500BAAFOP (Spain) with latest firmware as JH1.
And in Germany, for example, KIES has newer firmware, say JH7.
You can easily change your product code to GT-S8500BAADBT and upgrade via KIES.

Here are Some of the Codes which u can use to check ur phone info..

Anonymous, 10 Oct 2010Nokia is only NAME for old glory of quality!!! 10 reason... moreHow about these differences...
                              1. Wave doesnt have predective dialling. N8 has it.
                              2. Wave cant store more than 1300 txts total (700 inbox + 600 drafts+sent etc). With N8 theres no limit to it.
                              3. Wave has a 5MP camera. N8 has a 12MP camera.
                              4. Wave has a 3.3" screen. N8 has a 3.5" screen
                              5. Wave has Bada OS. N8 has the Symbian^3 OS
                              6. Bada OS is resource hungry and therefore needs 1Ghz processor. Symbian^3 is very light and therefore 680 Mhz is a pretty good deal.
                              7. Wave doesnt have a separate GPU. N8 has a separate processing unit for graphics.
                              8. Nokia has been the pioneer for Smartphones in the last two decades. Symbian OS's have the largest collection of Apps than any other OS's (Bada is still an infant compared to other OS's)

                              Need I say more....
