I bought wave as a media device and except for htc touch pro and touch would never buy a htc device yet until they get their poor quality speakers,,poor quality cameras and poor quality video sorted out for starters..HTC charge alot for their fones but the components they use are worse quality than Alcatel and some dirt cheap nokia fones..Their build quality and messed up Android portfolio is a joke..YOU have fones 0n 1.5/1.6/2.0/2.1 then promises for updates what a mess..My mates htc hero was finally updated ONE WHOLE YEAR after htc promised the update..
Htc need to increase their component quality for what they charge cause its just not on,not just for me but for a few of my mates and many other buyers..Their update policy is about as good as samsungs ,in other words poor whereas nokia are stellar in that department..

Also using this wave alongside nokia n86 which is another top smartfone..
I have been downloading some java apps ie opera,,snaptu and such and could not see it in list ..Could not understand as its java compatible??? A quick google revealed its under Games & more...See you cant know everything i do struggle with some things but prefer to tackle them myself before putting out a question out,,i am stubborn..

How did you charge your battery for the first tim... moreWith charging batterys for years i now do this..you get your new fone and as far as it goes its on its way down anyway so i flatten it then charge for 12hrs first time only..Then go thru the charge/discharge cycle about 10 times to strengthen battery then do wahat you want after that..In trueness it should only be 4-5hrs,,carfone say 16hrs,i do 12hrs first time..
Over past years ive owned so many fones BUT they have been second so had no chance to start with battery..
I think the best advice is your initial first charge at least 4hrs then flatten it and charge it to full,,flatten then full charge 10 times over..Thats all i do..After that 10 charges try not to let the batterry go completly flat and leave it flat for months these lithium batterrys liked to be charged up..If your battery goes flat dont worry just charge it as soon as you can..
Some facts;;
you can get a faulty battery and if you suspect this get it changed they can malfunction and go on fire,,the fumes are toxic but this is still rare and its usuallya big batch that goes wrong..
Never open one up, lithium is toxic at these levels and dont follow tips on how to trim a larger capacity battery to install in a device,i would not do that its asking for trouble..
They do get warm under heavy use but if you feel the mobile you will find its the electronics getting hot not so much the battery..If it feels uncomfortably hot and i think you will know that just by human nature,,get it checked but it still rare..
New battery tech is on the way its in the laboratary at the moment..Now getting it out of a safe lab and into a tough little package for humans to chuck around is different story..So new techs their its just the logistics of it getting safely into real usable conditions..

Yes, it has. "NavFON" is FREE GPS navigator for Bada. But it's only for west Malaysia and Singapore. If you need more you need to go to it official website.

scoopyscoopy, 31 Aug 2010I found that there were a lot of Samsung Wave's owners comp... moreRemoving my Samsung account has also improved my battery life. (1% per hours for the last 3 hours) with about 5-10min of talking and on GSM network. Locked the rest of the time.
This is a big improvement for me.
Thanks for the one good tip.
All this conditioning crap has been useless and possibly misleading. Be warned that fully discharging a Lithium Ion battery may reduce its life further each time you do it.

How did you charge your battery for the first time? I mean for how many hours did you charge it? some sites recommend 4-5 hours, other sites 11-13 hours + 3 full discharge/charge cycles. Thanks in advance for your reply.

does wave has a secondry camera for video call for 3g???? Is it true that even though it has 1500mah battery then also its battery back up is poor??? N does it needs frequent firmware upgradation even if newly purchased?? Coz i dont have a pc these days n i cant afford to waste time visiting samsung service centre often for fw upgrade or for changing battery,also does deleting 'my samsung account' from my menu help to increase battery life coz it requires 24*7 connection n thus drains battery very quickly????? So shud i go for more reliable nokia x6 with better os than 'bada' os n more popular 'ovi store' than samsung store for bada application ???? Plz help me choose between these two sets. Thank you.

just location imformation is not available yet in India..hope that too will be up soon.
I think its not a good idea to delete Samsung account to save some battery life imo....incase it get stolen or lost.

People who are having battery problems must have something in the background running am sure of it..I am not to up on wave add ons but if anyone is using third party add one like nimbuzz and fring they are cropping up as severe battery drainers in forums..
I get hours out of my wave with 210 minutes of HD video recording which is tops after years of video recording trials..Ive listened to hrs of music some texting some few minute fone calls and lucky if it drops one bar..
