Wave noob, 17 Aug 2010I tried driver recovery thingy in the options on top left c... moreI can understand your frustration. Me too had the firmware upgrade problem and I kept trying for 2-3 days. And finally got it working by connecting the Wave in 'USB Debugging' mode while it kept saying 'Connecting to device'. I never had my Wave connected to Kies when I had XP, still I was able to upgrade the firmware. Now I have Windows 7 and the phone is connecting without an issue. The problem I had was the 'MTP device' error in XP, but not now in Win 7. Kies really need some improvement.

I've gotten my Wave for more than 2 months.
It is a superb phone. No doubt that this phone is awarded the European Social Media Phone 2010-2011!

Smat, 17 Aug 2010If my steps to get ur phone working on Kies didn't work the... moreYa that's the only option left.but it's a very cumbersome process.besides,all other applications r working fine.tht discourages me from taking the extreme step.fortunately i have a wifi routes at home.i can use it to install apps.but i want to change my country in app store to uk from india.any idea how it can be done?

Wave noob, 17 Aug 2010Uninstallation also failed.the slider gets stuck at 90%.doe... moreIf my steps to get ur phone working on Kies didn't work then its very likely that the Kies installation was corrupted or that ur Windows installation is damaged. Plus its not normal than u cannot uninstall it and this suggests that the Kies file is damaged in some way. My advice is to reinstall Windows from scratch and start again. Its annoying to have to reinstall I agree but sometimes its the only solution.

Uninstallation also failed.the slider gets stuck at 90%.does anyone knows of any software that can force uninstallation from add or remove prog?will my system crash if i delete the folder and restart the system?i'm never going to repeat the mistake of installing kies on my system again

The phone being excellent in all other aspects, I needed a few things different from my Nokia 5800.I was kind-of disappointed. I found some odd irritations on the wave :
1) Keyboard is NOT multitouch. What's the use of such an awesome capacitative touchscreen if u can't type fast enough (moreover, no swype too :-( ). You have to completely lift up a pressed button, only then you can type the next.
2) You can only add widgets onto the home screens, not shortcuts or icons. Again, a wastage of such a nice screen space.
3)Widgets that come preinstalled are so big that you can rarely fit more than one on a screen.
4) What would it have cost Samsung to put in a decent clock widget preinstalled?? All it has is a yahoo clock which is also, below par for my expectations.
5) In any list, you get small letters at the right of the screen to help you navigate. But they are so small that even the slimmest of fingers will cover it completely while searching, thereby making it useless.
anybody agrees? I chose the wave over the galaxy s, but I was more disappointed than I expected.

My steps for getting the phone connected are as follows: connect ur WAVE by USB then on the phone select Kies when the transfer mode pops up. Kies automatically starts on my pc (no need to hit the pc icon) and take about 5 seconds to load and recognise the phone. May be stating the obvious but hope it helps.

Samsung wave....480x800 = HIGH!
i guess you run ur laptop on the same resolution as a iphone to speed ur games up.
My bro got iphone and i bought the wave. Not only does it run smoother and with less jaggies on the screen it looks way better thx to the super oled screen.

And ta... moreI tried driver recovery thingy in the options on top left corner.i completed successfully.but no noticeable change in either the loading time.it gets stuck in an infinite loop showing that connecting slider.now when i finally wanna remove kies,it's again getting stuck at the very instance of initialization.i use 2.4ghz intel p4 with xp sp3,ram being 768mb.i started off with this at 8.30 in the evening and i'm still sitting here frustrated,cursing myself.it's been close to 2hrs.if it doesn't get uninstalled on its own,i'll delete the stuff and restore my registry.i gotta use my wave without kies.i see no other option.people mostly using win7 r not facing any issues that includes my friend too who bought the phone with me on the same day.i can't upgrade my os just for this and neither my comp hardware's gonna support it

ya phone arena has written a biased review. in their site also u can see frustrated people commented for being biased. phone arena also supports iphone blindly.

help.. i'm experiencing some stuttering on the playback of divx videos.. im using a class 6 8gb microsd.. also my asphalt stutters at somepoint is this a firmware issue. my current version is jg3.. need help please.
