Jaco, 12 Aug 2010Hey guys. Just a little update on my awsome waveeee :D. ... moreWow, you're among those who got the "good stock" batteries. You didn't need to "condition" that to get that kind of life, did you?

Anonymous, 12 Aug 2010what brand did you got from cd rking? It's their own, CDR-King branded. I'll try to look for the packaging to check if the class is indicated.

New waver, 12 Aug 2010I think it is normal for a phone to not allow some power hu... moreI agree, the battery low warning (which prevents power-hungry apps from starting) comes on much too early. Since I've just started the full-drain cycles for my unit just last week, I've just recently discovered that time from the low batt warning to full drain usually lasts the whole night (4-8 hours!)

What I do now is look at the Settings>About phone>System info>Battery from time to time and wait til it says "critical power level" instead of percentage, then I plug it in. After the 9 charging cycles though, I guess I'll go back to my usual charging practices.

Newbie, 12 Aug 2010This may seem a bit naive, but using TV Out, do we get only... moreYou get VGA/WVGA composite video and stereo audio (5.1ch if connected to an AV receiver that supports it) from the 3.5mm plug of the wave.

An old video cable I use for my 5.5gen iPod, which doesn't work on my 1st gen iPod Touch, doesn't work on the Wave either. I use instead an imitation Nokia TV-out cable and it works great on the wave (still doesn't work on the iPod Touch though). Most users report that just buying any generic 3.5mm to composite vga at an electronics store does the trick.

It's quite fast, you can't tell the difference between loading an app from phone memory or from the microSD. I can't find any 32gb memcard here, tried in HK and Thailand, none either. But I should have gotten a 16gb either from HK or Bangkok when I was there since the 16gb in CDR-King is always out of stock

That way, when you start off from your house or office to another location, you'll be able to plot your route without having to lock your takeoff location (house or office) first.

                          Is this the right way??????????
Prolong the Life of Your Battery
                          ==================================
Initialize a new battery. New batteries should be fully charged before their first use to obtain maximum capacity. Nickel-based batteries should be charged for 16 hours initially and run through 2-4 full charge/full discharge cycles, while lithium ion batteries should be charged for about 5-6 hours. Ignore the phone telling you that the battery is full--this is normal but is not accurate if the battery is not initialized. #DO NOT fully discharge a lithium-ion battery! Unlike Ni-Cd batteries, lithium-ion batteries' life is shortened every time you fully discharge them. Instead, charge them when the battery meter shows one bar left. Lithium-ion batteries, like most rechargeable batteries have a set amount of chargers in them.[1]

Charge your battery correctly, in accordance with its type. Most newer cell phones have lithium-ion batteries, while older ones generally have nickel-based batteries. Read the label on the back of the battery or in the technical specifications in the manual to determine which yours is.

Nickel-based batteries (either NiCd or NiMH) DO NOT generally suffer from a misunderstood phenomenon known as the "memory effect." As described in Wikipedia and many expert sources,[2] the term "memory effect" has been widely mythologized to describe any and all deterioration of NiCd (and other battery chemistries), in many cases misleading consumers into further shortening the lives of the batteries through over-discharging to "recondition" them.[3]
[This section formerly read: If you charge the battery partially enough times, eventually the battery "forgets" that it can charge fully. A nickel-based battery suffering from memory effect can be reconditioned, which requires the battery to be completely discharged, then completely recharged (sometimes several times). The appropriate length of time between reconditionings varies. A good rule to follow for nickel-battery cell-phones is to discharge them completely once every two to three weeks, and only when you have a charger available. [4] ]
Lithium ion batteries can be preserved by careful charging and avoiding storing them at full charge.[5] They do not require "reconditioning."
Regardless of the battery type, use only a charger rated for your battery, and discontinue use of a charger that causes the battery to heat up excessively.

its been two days now and my phone is on 71% so thats from morning till nitetime and morning till nitetime.

Just did plain sms and phonecalls and web surfing, very minimal or avg use for me :D.

so i can see this lasting 5 days on my use and on heavy use, 2 days.

Not that i cared if it lasted oneday since i always use to charge my old phone everynite. kinda weird not having to do that now with my wave. btw on the 1st day it was on 4 brightness and today on 10.

I installed the UK Kies version 1.5.1.10062 and checked if there is any firmware upgrade available but it showed the sames message like new Kies- "The phone's firmware can't be upgraded'. So I guess JF2 is the latest firmware till now.
                                Regards.

KARTHIK, 12 Aug 2010hey guys i dont know whether to be happy or sad , i having ... moreI think it is normal for a phone to not allow some power hungry apps when its running off the very last fumes of energy !

Though I agree with you, it takes so much time to completely dry even when the battery starts blinking. The other day I too was trying to drain the battery, and I thought the best way would be to talk on it.

I must have talked for 1 hr atleast after the battery had started blinking. :-s ( my wifi,3g were connected and email synchronization was set to push sync).

So perhaps, it shuts off those apps a bit too early then it needs to.

hey guys i dont know whether to be happy or sad , i having a battery life of 2 days of minimum usage one guy suggested me to dry up the battery till empty and recharge it untill battery is full , so i thought of drying up the power so when the battery bar started blinking i thought it would dry up within 5 or 10 min so i wanted to finish it up early so i connected my wifi and trust me guys i browsed and downloaded for almost 2 hours then only dried up thats the happy part( may be the battery would last 3 full days afterall)but the other thing is i am not able to use camera ,not able to play games no videos watching allowed and brightness cant be increased more than 1 at that time, thats the sad par........any comment ?
