Also, it looks stretched...same with the buddies widget. I noticed though that in videos and photos of pre-release previews that it wasn't the case then. Hopefully they get it back to that look with subsequent firmware updates...

I bought mine in Hongkong, so I'll need to ask someone going there to change it for me. Most buyers here in Manila are getting better battery life, so I was thinking of just buying a spare one here, but there's still no stocks, except in stores that have Hongkong suppliers, so it might not be a good idea. Anyway, I'll see what happens with the charge cycles before I bother anyone going to HK. Good luck with yours

New waver, 08 Aug 2010I was just going to move that folder to my phone memory aft... moreJust move the folder named "Data" from the "SamsungNavigator" folder in your phone to the "SamsungNavigator" folder in your memory card. You should be good to go after that. =)

jp, 08 Aug 2010Some update on battery life: I'd been getting barely two... moreWel I'm done with my 9 cycles of fully drain&charge. today.Not much improvement:( 35 h maximum to last with it ,what is havey usage.I just watch 7 youtube vids mostley some playing with the camm asfalt figit some settings ,Now Left 3 bars of bat about40% i unplug the charge 5h ago.My old N82 what i left aside standby last for 5 days or some more.Is just something not right we hv a bad brance of battery pfff

Some update on battery life:
I'd been getting barely two days of battery life in the beginning. I was regretting not taking the sales person's instructions to "condition" the battery by charging it 10 hours the first time (I unplugged it right after it notified me that charging was full), especially since I found out that more users were actually getting 4-5 days and I was one of the few unlucky ones to get short batt life. I doubted that more users had charged 10 hours the first time, I read that lithium batteries didn't need that "conditioning" anymore.
Anyway, some who had short batt life reported getting an extra two days of life after a month of using their units. Now I realize what conditioning it needed -- I had been charging my battery even without a full drain, sometimes plugging it into USB when it's nowhere near half-empty since I wanted to transfer files. Apparently, doing that meant that I wasn't finishing any charge cycle (By that computation, I was only around the 2nd or 3rd charge cycle even after using it two weeks).
So the past week, I let it drain until the low batt warning came up and even after (it was taking too long though to shut off by itself, so I plugged it in by the time it reached 6%). Guess what? Right after that charge, the phone lasted an extra 4-7 hours than the previous charge! (Can't tell the exact extra hours since I don't use the phone in exactly the same way daily).
I'll try to finish charge cycles for the next two weeks and report back if I finally get the 4-5 days that other wavers are so smug about. :P Feeling very optimistic though... :D

i had some issues earlier wid my wave but sfter hard ... moreTo transfer contacts to the Wave without using Outlook:
1.store your contacts as .vcf files on a folder on your pc (if you send your contacts from your previous phone to your pc from bluetooth, usb or from that phone's software, it will either automatically be in .vcf or have the option of saving/exporting to .vcf)
2. Connect Wave to PC via usb in Samsung Kies mode.
3. Run Kies program (if it doesn't automatically open after connecting Wave) and open its Contacts widget
4. Click on the PC tab
5. Click on Open File button
6. Navigate to the folder where you stored your contacts
7. Select .vcf files of all contacts you want to transfer to Wave
8. Click on the Open button after you've made your selection
10. Your contacts will appear on the main pane, type crtl-a to highlight all contacts
11. Click on Transfer to Device button
12. After transferring all contacts, Kies will shift you to the Device tab and you should be able to see your contacts in the main pane.
13. You may edit contact info from here before disconnecting your phone with its shiny new contacts. =)

Hi there,
bought my Wave yesterday and it seems and works very well! Although I have a problem installing KIES.
Downloaded the latest version from samsung website, installed it on several PC's wit XP SP3 and WIN7 32bit but I allways get the message "Cannot connect to the File server, please check your network settings. Any idea?

New waver, 08 Aug 2010Jp I followed your advice on setting up my navigation. :) T... moreI think you'll be fine transferring the folder to memory card if it installs on your phone. If not, you can reinstall again, but do this first:
Settings>Applications>Installation settings>Default installation location --> Memory Card checked instead of Phone; and
Settings>Memory>Default memory--> Memory Card checked instead of Phone for all options, so that everything you do on your Wave stores new files downloaded or received on the card instead of the phone.

charan123, 08 Aug 2010hi... even i have the same problem... i m frm india. curren... moreI have a suspicion the updating problem is coming from the Kies server and not from any of our phones. We should continue checking from time to time. The first time I checked a couple days after updating, it says I already have the latest firmware. After another two days, it was saying the firmware couldn't be updated. ???

But I just found out that after I downloaded the maps, route66 has made a folder named "SamsungNavigator" on both my phone memory and my memory card.
Though the one on my phone memory is 246 mb, and the one on my mc is 334 kb. It seems as if its made for reference. Anyhow, since the name is same, I cant move it onto the memory card. And I dont know if it will even work if I Rename either of them. :( :(

Have you tried with some other wallpaper ?
Have you tried deleting your homescreens and setting them up again ??

Hey frnds, i am from india. I just upgraded my phones firmware from JF1 to JF2. Nd thats where all my problems started. First, prior to upgrade, the homescreen had 3 screens but now it has only 2 screens on which i can slide my wallpaper. So u see, the problem is i cannot adjust my wallpapers to the centre. It either remains a bit to the right or to the left due to only 2 screens available. Hope u all cud understand my prob nd kindly suggest me something.
Second is that my phone hangs and freezes more often and i have to remove the battery to restart the phone. Anyone else having the same prob kindly share ur experiences.
P.S. - The best wallpaper size which fits on this phone is 1280*800 or any wallpaper in which the height to width ratio is 1.6:1. Hope u guys find this information useful.
And if sum1 going to buy a memory card, buy the class 6 and not the class 2. I bought kingston 16 gb class 2 memory card and it is not able to play most of my 720p videos in mkv format so i have to re-encode them to 480p in avi format at almost 50 to 75% of the original bit rate and this is a really tiresome process and there is loss of quality as well.

mnk, 08 Aug 2010in some previous post someome suggested to change the iso s... moreSet ure cam back to defaultset:then set this;ISO keep@ auto- whitebalance to TLlicht-DONt turn ON the automatic contrast..That s the most easy snap mode to shoot a clear and sunnybricht picture indore with some licht sorces,that u dont even hv to worry that your hand is shakey to hold,To me i find the defauld mode looks like a painting and out off focus with big salutation in the background and i really hv to be stady hold the wave inorder to shoot a good pic.That's wrong for fast shoot out ,So i figger this settings out.to shoot faster with clear results,Try it out
