man i try updating my device but after the do... moreI had the very same trouble mate. :)
So what worked for me should work for you too (Hopefully).
Just uninstall the Kies you have on ur system and download an older version from the following link :
http://www.samsungmobile.co.uk/support/softwaremanuals/softwareKiesUpdate.do?phone_model=GT-S8500#how
I had tried multiple times and it gave me the same Rapi.dll missing error. But this did the trick.

ritesh, 31 Jul 2010Anyone is aware of any google map application for this mobi... morethe only google map version you can get now is the java one, just search it using google and you should find a jad file to install.. tho not really good looking, i'll stick with route66

man i try updating my device but after the download and updating it gave me an error (RAPI.dll or sumtin like that) and it put my phone to recovery mode anyway it doesnt harm my devide cuz when i restart the phone it switch ON and seems nothing happend, ive tried this twice now and still no luck maybe the third time will be a charm..(any idea about the rapi.dll thingy?)

Aditya, 31 Jul 2010when u enter samsung application it will look for a interne... morethanks Aditya for 4 your help!!!but actually, the problem was not in connection, cause like i said my wifi is working fine, i had to do this...
1)i had register and then i did this...
clicked on top left "kies" menu, and choose 'driver recovery', let it do it's thing, and when done, connect phone to pc, and kies will find phone. At least it worked for me. Hope it helps!

karl, 31 Jul 2010im from the philippines and my samsung kies tells me theres... moreNo need to take memory card out. You can take your sim card out though, since it can harm your phone if you receive a call during the upgrade.
