AnonD-3809, 18 May 2011if people dont know how to use a device then they should no... moregps - google itself says it will not work properly on this phone, no touch support, u cannot find location or zoom it, then one has to spend precious time to search all the forums to get it work - end result is frustation after not finding a proper solution
no task manager - although no use - there is minimal multitasking
if in a week u r not able to know about the features of a phone, it in itself says a lot about user friendliness of the phone
u need to be a tech freak or an IT expert to get things work on samsung phones - not at all user friendly - ppl say there is a way out - yes there is always a way out - u can make ur own OS - or simply u can opt for another fone
just see nokia - when u connect it to PC for internet it even shows how much data u have downloaded and can notify u after a certain limit
verdict - fone has its own limitations and advantages, so try hands on before purchasing - but a great fone 4 girls
but its true that shopkeepers promote samsung like anything - durability is another issue with samsung
kindly dont take these as negative comments - this is an open forum and the views posted are only for the benifit of users to choose the best phone according to needs - kindly correct me where i m wrong - improvements r always welcome
also i still dont get how u can open menu while on call - i tried but didnt work for me

This phone is not as bad as you say and you don't even know its features since you have not used it much.
1. multitasking doesn't mean that reading msgs during a call. It is also about running multiple application at the same time. Press the center button continuously you will be able to mange multiple apps.
2.To go to the menu just press the center key. To exit the app press the End call button . U should understand this is a different OS not Symbian.
To make a call in contacts menu, just swipe from left to right on the contact name , it makes a call. If you want to message swipe right to left, it goes to the the message menu. This is easy and cool than having a call button next to the contacts.
To view the sent item, inbox and outbox you must select folder view option.
3. For internet , activate your GPRS or 3G if you don't want to use WiFi.
4. if you want to play good games you got to pay. You can't expect every thing to be free.
5. About Google maps dude first search then comment.

6. if have seen many smart phones which last for only 8 hours. This phone lasts for 2 days.

1)multitasking ==>just press lock key and open menu and do whatever u want to do.It locks screen at the time of call to prevent unnecessary touch.
2)if u want to use going back and there is no button it means just press menu key.I think u didnt use any other Os.(Yes u used symbian a lot....no regrets i have too.)
3)open ur eyes and use the fucnctions of NPC samsung suite for using internet on pc.
4)For games i think u dont like HD games provided by gameloft and many more.Seems u like Mario,tetris and contra.
5)Gps-- u didnt try to download.it isnt OS fault.I have google map in my wave.Just google it my dear.
6)baatery it lasts 2 days at normal use.It is more then sufficient for a beast like S8530.
Ya my nokia 1100 battery was much better from this(:D)
See the world around u with High end Multimedia sets.U will observe that wave,s batt is damn gud and better than others.(Consider the apps,u r using,Screen size brightness etc)
So i think u should think twice before posting.

bought a wave 2 a week ago
earlier i used to b a nokia buyer - but i took risk inspite of warning from many (not the shopkeepers)
the fone looks unbeatable on paper but see what it is
multitasking - u cannot even view messages while on call, what more can u expect?
u make 1 ghz processor to escalate the price n den put it to no use
even a basic nokia c5 has much better multitasking
features - even basic features like going back to menu are absent, u go to contacts and to make a call u dont have any touch button
a few months back i bought a 2k mobile phone of fly - n u guess what - there was no sentitems folder - wave 2 make me remember those moments
camera, look n feel, clarity, touch interface - very good indeed, design is fascinating
audio, video - video will obviously be good and it is, audio is good and acceptable
internt - only wifi option to connect to pc for internet that sucks yr battery
games, apps - forget, not for india - not even 1 worth
gps - hahaha, u cannot even install google maps
battery - ok, but not as gud as nokia
software for pc - kies is a 3rd class pc suite, no use
although i dont use the missing features a lot - so its fine 4 me - but its not the case with everybody
i m for india - considering the cost of living it is like buying a mac for an american - i mean to say its a priced possession for us and when it turns out to be like this - it really hurts - i think this samsung company makes only crap - all the products r look gud n cheap quality
friends beware - i dunno why all the shopkeepers promote samsung to the extreme - what margins do they get - but other brands are equally good or may b better
now i regret of not buying c7

i have decided to buy wave 2 by reading all the opinions posted. but still no one has commented regarding the usage of front camera in wave2. so pls guys let me know abt the video calling feature in wave 2. has anyone tried video calling in wave 2??? pls do reply me reg video calling if it has any prob... otherwise i have to switch to nokia phone. the main aspect for me to purchase a mob is first video calling only... so pls friends help me out reg the same. thanku...

I have been using this handset for a month now. Here's my view--
1. Aesthetic look--u can't find too many models which would prove a better eye-candy!
2. Nice camera--i m not a camera addict. So wont go in depth. Overall, i m more than pleased, esp by its video-recording capabilities.
3. Audio--no match for my superb n95 8gb.
4. Video--to b honest,i got it for this purpose mainly. And i m thoroughly satisfied.
5.gaming--bada needs to catch up. Its falling short not by miles, but by light years. When i got this set, i gifted my ipod touch to my brother. It was a horror of a decision.
6. Apps--lol, samsung apps is a theme store. Out of every 20 new releases,almost 18 are themes. In last 1 month in india, number of games have crawled up from 633 to 666. In the meanwhile, themes have zoomed up from 1080 to 1456.
Overall, gr8 set if u put a blind eye to its application store.

If u r an app-buff, don't go for this phone. I m from india. And here, out of 4100 apps available, over 1450 are lame themes. Plus, almost a quarter of total apps are not bada 1.2 compatible. Samsung is too busy dishing out iphone replicas, while its own app-store is rotting.

I am using Wave 2 and it is a amazing handset , its photo, video and music clarity is very good.It supports various video formats, I am able to watch even movies downloaded from internet. The battery backup is very good. Now to the points you have asked.
1. In comparison with HTC desire the spec is almost the same expect the battery used in HTC is 1400mAH while in Wave is 1500mAH. So i feel Wave has better battery backup. The build quality and looks of Wave 2 is better than HTC.
2. Phone doesn't have any hanging issues.
3.I don't know whether Bada is fast compared to Android but i feel Bada is more power efficient compared to Android phones.
4.You can surely use it for gaming and internet as it has good battery backup and has flash support for internet.
5.Google maps and Opera mini are not available in app store so you have to download the java version by goggling or visit this link

6.Response of the OS is good.
7. Games with good graphics are available in Samsung app store like NFS , asphalt but you have to purchase them. Cost will be around Rs50 to Rs400.
so choice is yours.

I have some questions for you guys hope you will give me ur valuable answers.
1) I am planing to buy this phone is it worth buying compared to HTC Desire.
2)Does this Phone Have any hanging issues.
3) Is BADA OS fast or Anroid?
4) I am lokking to buy this phone for Gaming and Internet will it be my right choice?
5) Are most of the applications compatable on this phone like:- Skype, Nimbuzz, Opera Mini, Google Maps, and manny others.
6) How is the overall Response from the OS like is it slow for some application.
7) From Where will i be able to download the games with good graphics like the one advertised on TV.
